Yeah! That was my biggest concern. There is a local airgas that will refill, but they just collect bottles needing a fill, and then do them all at once, on site. So who knows how long that'll take. Doing the exchange will be much easier, and cheaper too. Just won't have a shiny bottle but of course that's ok.

I do not think you could take a subie on the road/trail I was on. You need good ground clearance. However, getting a subie stuck could be an opportunity to practice recovery techniques. There are some deep ruts a 12 to 15” deep water crossing and many rough sections.

Wish someone would make a belt driven air pump to add on. I'd be in heaven.

I just spend way too much time on here and read so many random threads. And in those threads is links to other threads. I have a lot of random tacoma knowledge in my little brain.

I think that road from rapidan to skyline is gated after the camps. Blakey ridge sounds interesting. From the sounds of it you are at the point where the switzer lake route at flag pole knob would be a good experience for you. The toyRVAyotas facebook group is doing that route in early November.

You have any time off during the week?

I am free all week and weekend. I like exploring during the week and that is a problem for finding someone free during the week. I will check my overlander for the route and let you know.

Your local brew supply shops will typically fill on site, if it's just CO2 (depending on size of tanks I guess).

I go to Aquia Pines Campground in Stafford to get tanks refilled, but they are not cheap, but last me a long time when used to pour beer.

There is like 3 diffrent sections. If you go up from Crigglersville the main way up is rutted but can be driven around. Once you get to the top there is a open area we all call the parking lot. If you go strait across and down byt the creek it is a well groomed trail mainly gravel, still a fun drive and tere are cabins toward the top. last time I went up I saw about 5 Subies parked for people trout fishing. Now if you get to the "parking lot" and go left that turns into a fairly tight and rough, in spots, trail that goes all the way to Wolftown suposedly. I haveever been the whole way. Once hunting season starts I dont go up there especially bear seaon as they will be running dogs all over the mountains. I get along with them but it can be a rough bunch, IDK what that says fr me

We started from Crigglersville drove through a valley and that was the last of any of the places you mentioned. After the valley it was all 4x4 until we reached a paved road to Madison. We came out across from administrative bldgs where we aired up. My overlander shows all dash lines and none of the features you mention. I need someone to explore with me.

I know the road from Wolftown into the valley that continues on gravel into the SNP. At the end of the pavement there is small historic church with picnic benches under a tree. I have enjoyed lunch there while exploring.

The way you went in you drive up thrugh the valley and when the hard top ends it makes a sharp right hand turn and turns into a dirt road up the mountain that is pretty badly rutted up. When you get up past all that there is the "larger" clearing. You must have gone left which is the way I want to explore. If you go strait across that is where the tril leads down by the creak and is pretty well grromed. They do not like you to bypass the bridges and drive through the run although we did in one spot.
These were on the main road heading up I had the family withme and they didn't want to go too far
