Front Speaker Recommendation

I’ve done a bunch of research but I am still very green when it comes to audio so I am reaching out to get some advice from you guys who know much more than I do. I have a Kicker Key on the way and plan to upgrade my speakers. I will be keeping the stock HU. The front will be components and the rear will be coaxial. I plan on adding an all in one bass speaker/amp like the Sound Ordinance B8PT, etc.

Looking to keep the budget for the front components at around $200. I’ve looked at the Focal ISS 165 and the RSE 165, the Kicker KS/CS series as these seem popular here, among others. I listen to rock, alternative and some heavier stuff. Just seeing what you guys would recommend. Whichever components I get, I will just buy a matching coax for the rear.

 

With the stock HU you need very efficient speakers. 90+db

 

I had the Kicker CS running on an aftermarket head-unit but no amp and thought they sounded good. If possible - go for 6x9's. They sound just as good and will give you a little more oomph in bass.

 

That’s what I’m thinking. With the Key, I am only considering speakers at or above 90

Thanks for the input guys. My friend let me listen to some Morel Maximos and I think I will go that route.
