Veltex is what you want for that. Can be found for around $12-14/yd. if you ever need more let me know and I’ll show you who to get it from. If I remember right veltex comes in 54” rolls also. It’s either 54” or 60”, it’s been a while since I’ve needed to find it. It’s the cheapest and best option for that though and it’s made by Velcro.

I’m just messing around most of the time. A bunch of people take me seriously. Lol

Was messing with a guy one night about him messing up and saying two patches instead of one. Dude got back on and bought another one. I was like man I was just messing with you. I refunded it to him. Felt bad about that.

 

Hell, an idiot could make a patch mat. It’s fucking ridiculous what they sell for.

I should start making them. Lol



Could let the embroidery machine put DH outlines all over it.

 

Embroider them and then charge like $150 because its custom.

 

No kidding. Was looking at a mat from a maker on Facebook. Almost choked when I saw how much they were selling for. ($9.99/sqft) Immediately went looking for plain ol loop fabric like I got. If I had a sewing machine, I could make my own fancy shit.

 

That's basically what they do. Add a border and some accent stitching and then charge out the ass for it.

I'm not surprised they are expensive. Gotta cover the cost of time to do all the sewing and pay for that 7k sewing machine.

 

Shit you can make a patch mat with a machine from Walmart. You only need the heavy ones when you’re doing a shit load of stuff like Velcro on the patches. The one I have now will sew through 7 layers of denim like it’s nothing. I got tired of breaking machines.

Most them them are using a quilting machine to do the design on the mats. Those are expensive hence why the mats cost so much. I don’t have the room for one much less even want one.

If I had the space/money I'd seriously consider making some patches. There's some designs I've thought of that'd be neat but realistically if I had the space/money it'd go to tools/workshop.

 

Wife said she’s not hanging patches in the new 4Runner. Says it’s beautiful and she’s not messing up the headliner. Lol

 

I'm told you can make a patch headliner for cheap.
