@eimkeith sells a kit for supporting the top of the bucket better (though it looks like you also already have something similar) but also sells a limit strap mount for it as well. I still am trying right to wrap my head around how limit straps help the coil bucket from getting fucked but maybe he can explain better? I guess so that the shocks aren’t constantly pulling downward on the bucket at full droop?

 

Yeah I have something similar and limit straps.

Topping out hard would put all the force of a quickly extending coilover into the coil bucket, and shock, so that's a good thing to avoid. My straps just utilize the stock sway bar mount, but I don't think the 3rd gen runners have those.

I'm not convinced SAS is in any way the direction someone who likes to drive spiritedly should take.

 

If done right you can go just as fast from what I’ve seen. I know a couple trucks that proved that to me. But from what I heard all the Heims are just as much maintenance.

what do you all use to vacuum or clean the sand and crap that gets into your frame after wheeling
i have tons of Wisconsin sand plugging mine up and i have a heavy duty shopVac but no attachment that will fit into the holes and suck that stuff up before winter arrives
what do you do?

 

My frame has aftermarket drain holes that work good for flushing the it

 

do you have pics of your setup with the better holes?

i was considering making this hole bigger, its where all this sand is accumulating (pic is before the wheeling trip to WI after a good sand blasting, after-blast zinc coating and primer)
but I am unclear if I make this hole bigger (to drain better) if there could be unintended complications or not going forward
