I believe that the winner is usually the one with the worst case of body dysmorphia, when it gets to that top pro level at least. I 100% respect the work and determination, but yeah... most of those people have some head issues.

This has been my pre-workout meal for a few weeks. Greek yogurt, oats, berries, few almonds. 30P 51C 11F.

Stick with it. Part of the success of IF is making discipline second nature. It applies to all aspects of life.

Oh I will. I’m interested in trying something new.

    I didn’t start clock watching until 10:30.

What is your opinion of Dr. Jason Fung?

Oh, I misread that. Boat is in the slip. Pretty cool view out the window behind me though.

I’ll be sure to give it a watch. I know we talk juice a lot and all that and I’m not trying to spark that talk back up. Again. Or hate on them but it is for sure interesting to hear what the extremist say and feel about them.

They all are willing to literally die for the sport. For a trophy that half the people in the world have never even heard of. It’s insane.

I know you’re into BB as well so I don’t mean to take any jabs lol. But it is crazy seeing the ones who went way too far. They don’t even look human lol

So during my YouTube journeys today I glanced into a video of rich piana and Thor training together and it made wonder...

You strong men are usually just genetically huge.

Is steroid use pretty common in strongmen ? Is it tested? Always thought these strong men were just freaks of nature and gifted but now I’m genuinely curious.

Pretty much all Strongmen at that level are on some sort of PED. While they are huge and freaks of nature, they still take steroids either currently or have in the past to have gotten to where they are. That's not to say all pros are though. Pro level and World's Strongest Man levels are completely different. Where Pros will be deadlifting 600-650lbs for reps, WSM and those guys will be doing 800lbs+, so it's a big jump across all the events.

And no, Strongman Corp does not test for steroids from what I have heard and seen. They do blood tests at certain big events but mainly are just looking for drug use like amphetamines and heroin. If they do test for roids they don't really look hard for them lol They only test right before an event and the events are spread out enough that you can run a cycle and have it out of your system in plenty of time.

EDIT: but the guys like Thor and Shaw who are absolutely huge probably aren't on as much juice as the "smaller" 6'2" 280-300lb guys who are keeping up with them

Well that kinda sucks but also makes sense too.

do they have like a all natural strongmen competition ever?

They don't advertise it either way. Even the unsanctioned ones I've seen that say "this is a drug free comp" don't test.

The amateur and open class comps are usually pretty clean since those are guys that are just having fun or learning. But once you get to Nationals and get a pro card most are at least on testosterone.

You crazies that are way too in to running (yes, I'm looking at you @PackCon and @broke_down) how do you go about warming up for a run? Do you foam roll or stretch first? Or just start off with a light jog and then increase pace? One of my dogs is great off leash and loves fetch and will play until he passes out, the other is an asshole so I can't really take him to the park and let him run off leash. In trying to get my cardio back up I might start trying to do just mild runs down to the beach and home during my lunch break (its about a mile to the beach from home). I hate running but since I've been rowing my cardio seems a bit better and I'd like to get my asshole dog a bit more exercise in cuz hes gettin fat. I always seem to be sore/injured after any type of running.

Gotcha. Well shit. Time to watch some more documentaries on it tonight. Was watching some of the Ronnie Coleman vs Jay cutler stuff during lunch and god dang that looks like it had to be a fun duo to watch battle it out back in the day and even if they did use juice... it’s the dedication and absolutely killing themselves in the gym that made em the legends they are.

It is what it is. I can almost guarantee you nearly every top athlete is on some sort of PED whether it's test, clen, SARMs, or harder stuff. CrossFit (especially), NFL, powerlifting, BB, Olympic lifting, cycling, you name it. There are ways around everything testing wise, just ask Russia lmao

There is only so much you can do to max your natural potential, after that it's PEDs or you're done with the sport because you can't compete.

Watch anything on Eddie Hall's WR deadlift. He was on soooooo much shit while eating 10k cals a day and still considered taking a shot of adrenaline to be able to lift it. Shits nuts and honestly I admire the commitment. Once you realize everyone is on PEDs it doesn't bother you much.

That's not gonna happen. I'm not going to be doing a lot of running. I have a few different pairs of Nikes already. It's not something I need to spend money on for 2 mile runs. I will not be running any marathons in my lifetime.

they just help with endurance and feet hurting and enjoying it. In my opinion. Im not a marathon person but I can do 5-6 miles pretty easy.
Just do some lunges and jog in place and maybe even jump rope and standard stretches. If you’re only going 1-2 miles then you really shouldn’t be able to hurt yourself lol
