Really want a good light output and a cool white color. Any recommendations? Sorry if there’s been past threads

It's obvious you didn't even read the first post of the thread, where at least three currently available bulbs (i.e., OSRAM Super Bright Premium High Wattage Headlight Bulb 9003, Philips RacingVision 9003, and GE Lighting H4 NHX/BP2 Nighthawk Xenon) are recommended.

I just did the harness and bulbs as advised in the ultimate upgrade thread. They are "still" available on line. Great and worth while up grade. The Caliraised light bar I also added was a mind blowing up grade... white too.

Originally wanted a LED looking white/blue. I briefly read and came to the conclusion blueish tint is unwanted for output and oncoming traffic.

I run Sylvania Silverstar ultra ZXE in my truck and my wife’s CRV. They have great cutoff and they are bright and white in color. Been on both vehicles for about 2 years.

Halogens produce lots of yellow light and little blue light. Blue filters to make a halogen white/blue-ish work by removing the yellow light and only allowing blue light to pass through, or in other words, removing the bulk of the output so the minority of the output can make the color look white/bluer. That kills light output. Look at the charts in the thread, I've provided all the data for actual real performance bulbs (not cosmetic ones) so you can pick the whitest looking bulb based on the data and see what kind of output performance you'll have and strike a balance that works for you. LEDs in an H4 reflector housing are just going to cause blinding glare, lots of scatter, and loss of performance.

Lots of choices and when I ordered new headlights at Headlight Depot got the Perde Solar Series Platinum H4s for like $25 a pair and they are 6k white light so crisp white but not blinding. Been in 3 years now no issues. Look them up if interested.

The brightest (low beam) and whitest stock wattage bulb is the Philips Racing Vision +150 which is 3600k. If you are looking for 5000k in a 2nd Gen reflector there are no good options other than retrofit. There is a 100/90w Osram Cool Blue 5000k bulb. You will need a harness from the linked thread to run it. Output will be substantially less than the uncoated bulb, and the bulb will run extra hot due to the coating leading to shorter life. Not a solution I would recommend.

I second this choice. I picked up the same ones from AutoZone about 9 months back and have loved them. Nice pure white and VERY bright.
