2.5" Lift Tire Size Choices

    Going to be installing the OME BP-51 kit soon. With the SPC adjustable upper control arms. From reading other threads, this will yield ~2.5" of lift, possibly a little more or less depending on pre-load settings. Do you think the following will fit:

    • 315/75R16 = 34.5"x 12.5"
    • 295/75R16 = 33.5"x 11.5"
    • 285/75R16 = 33"x 11"

    The 285's seem to be the tried and true method. Just wondering how big I can go with this kit and a 1/4" HS spacer?

    Vehicle specs:
    • 3rd Generation
    • Automatic
    • Stock gearing (can re-gear)
    • 16x8 wheels with 4" backspacing and -12 offset
    • ~2.5" of lift
    • SPC adjustable UCA's
    • Don't mind trimming (cab mount chop max)

    Which gen truck? AT or MT? I'd stick with 285s if you are staying with stock gearing.

    I assume you're gonna wheel the piss out of it if you're considering 35s. If you are regearing, go with 35s...but you'll have to cut/trim/chop a whole bunch.

    Okay, lets skip the 35's, I really hate playing the "where is it rubbing now" game. 285's seem safe with no real issues I can see. How about those 295's? Tire cost, there's only a $20 difference. Gives you an extra 1/2" both ways.

    What doesn't rub on 285s, may rub on 295s. It's the same game, see where it rubs, cut/trim/chop/remove. Honestly I wouldn't go any bigger than 285s on our trucks, due to heavier weight expediting wear and tear on your factory components. 33s look great on a Taco!

    I was under the impression that with the SPC's I can move the wheel forward enough to alleviate most, if not all of the rubbing. I live on a washboard dirt road that usually points out stuff fairly quick.

    I have a 2.5" lift, running SPC's and 285's. I did the CMC and removed some plastic. They clear from rubbing all day. But i'm also a second gen...

    Found this (see quote above) in a 295/75R16 thread for a gen 2 with 3" of lift. Shines some light on what I would be in for trying to go with that size.

    Yeah, wheel offset has everything to do with it as well. My T4R pro wheels have 0 offset, again no rubbing. And I'm running KM3s which are a bit beefier then most 285s
