So were they scared to include a Ridgeline in the test and embarrass all the other trucks?

I have an 06 LJ wrangler and purely for offroad it's better than the tacoma. I've ridden and wheeled in plenty of JK's and ridden in JL's to know they're WAY better than the taco offroad. I have not ridden in a Gladiator but be honest with yourself. Front and rear lockers, front sway bar disengaging, and solid rear axle, purpose built for offroading??? How can you argue with that? It's nothing against tacomas. I love mine, and am just modifying it more and more to be a good offroader, but a Gladiator is going to be better at only offroading. There's nothing wrong with that. That doesn't mean the tacoma is bad.

Toyota doesn’t pay for reviews as the product sells itself. All other makers pay for reviews.

The “auto journalists” are mostly shills and have been for decades. Back in the day the “big three” had allegiances with Car And Driver, Road and Track, and Motor Trend, with each magazine having a preference between Mopar, GM, and Ford.

This is one reason why Consumer Reports etc was formed when everyone realized the media was a bunch of bullshit, paid for by the makers using
underhanded means like advertising, shell companies, and access to exclusive premiers and new vehicles.

Toyota, to their credit, has the most successful midsize truck because it sells itself, all day, every day, by the thousands.

    Important to remember:
Auto reviews is a money-making business. The customer is the auto-makers. It is not you watching or reading the reviews for free.

The Gladiator is $16k more. Toyota could do a lot with $16k.

I almost bought a Gladiator myself. But then came to my senses and thought about what I really wanted above all else - which is reliability- and went with the taco. I’ve yet to meet anyone who has actually taken a Gladiator off road. Just people speculating on how great they are.

Just check out the sponsorships on these sites. He who pays the most “wins” even if the votes say otherwise. The article may be impeached on that alone but the truck owners loyalty”base” helps keep the narrative alive, regardless of facts.

They are looking for the best off-road vehicle yet complain that the Tacoma has more ground clearance than the Chevy and Ford. lol

Too bad they didn't review which one is best at recovering the broke-ass Chevys, Fords and Fiats off the trail...

Maybe I'm reading it wrong on how you're intending to come off. Sometimes tone is
Tfl truck has taken them offroad. The thing is pretty stout. There's a few YouTube channels of people wheeling them, but usually they're modified by then. Poor break over, but I've got a DCLB so it's still better than mine. I couldn't get a long bed with the gladiator though, and I've already got a wrangler.

After I finish installing my lift and tires I'll probably end up selling my jeep anyway. Rock crawling just doesn't do it for me anymore. I want to offroad to amazing places and sleep in my long bed which nothing beats the taco.

It's true that the Predator steps are just stupid on a TRD off-road 4x4. Got rid of mine quick.

I mean...I just bought a 19 OR...shifts completely fine to me,and I'm in love with everything. Though I am coming from a 13' Frontier SV,the basic of all trucks..so maybe I'm a bit biased. But you couldn't get me in any other truck lol negative reviews only serve the true Taco crowd..we love our trucks regardless.

Now what really got me is TFL's new video they posted of the top 5 safest mid sized trucks..the #1 made my jaw DROP lol

Which one isn't rated yet?? You guessed it..Jeep Gladiator..

    1. I think it comes down to who has the most bells and whistles . Just look at the sale numbers on Taco’s and watch how many you see on the road They are # 1 for many years.
