How much lift do those Deaver AALs provide? I need to bring back another 1/2" of lift or so to my rear after adding the tire gate swingout

oh nm I thought they were for your truck. I'm looking at getting the Dakar AAL because they supposedly only provide .5 - .75", most others I see do 1 - 2".

Wheelers has the 1.5", thats what I have in my truck. Its spot on. I also have their thick aluminum shims which give the full 2" roughly.

Yeah I just got my shims in the mail, so I'm thinking I'll install those first and see if maybe they help bump it up a tad and then decide on the AAL. I really don't want more than an additional inch at most.

Didn't even bother to measure so can't confirm. It definitely helped though. Just remember, no anti-friction pads/holes on the Dakar AALs. Get ready for the squeak. o_O

Yeah I remember that from last time I added them to the old Dakars. I would definitely get some anti friction pads this time if I do it again

That would be a tough call for me. The wheelers shims make you disassemble the pack to install them, may as well do an AAL while youre in there. Sure does suck pulling leafs...

I've read a couple different ways of installing them, for the ones with the pins that go through I was reading you just have to loosen the U-bolts, remove the center pin (keep clamps on the leafs to avoid them coming apart), pry the leaf pack up and slip the shim underneath. Then put the center pin back through and torque the u-bolts back down. Others say you take the packs off entirely. Guess I'll find out lol.

Ive never been able to get the pins out all the way with the packs in the truck. Youd have to drop the axle so low to where Id be afraid of snapping the abs line/brake line if its not extended.

I think all sport's stadiums besides the Mercedes-Benz Superdome has prices inflated like that.

    4 run, 2 don't
I cannot, without using drastic measures, remove the hub body :frusty:

Removing the cover exposes the cv end, but there's nothing forward of that.

I've hit/tapped all around the hub to "break" it loose but the damn thing doesn't budge. Same with the cone washers.

    Hmmm...

    20190926_151907.jpg

I'd use a pry bar but don't want to fuck up the mating surfaces or body.

You need a brass drift. Take the brass drift, and hit directly on the studs. It'll pop off the cone washers.
