There are times when I wish I could have tried this test on my Taco, but I didn't get OVT until well after the TSB tune. Still, it was major change with the benefits that you noted.

Post says don't use hacked Tactrix version. Yet we do replace an exe with an included one, which seems to be cracked? Any input on this? I run my devices on strict SRP policies and will have to disable them to run tactrix. Don't want to compromise tightly secured system.

It is the one item that 99% of us are just going to be :anonymous: on unless you have a TiS subscription or are a Toyota Tech.

Yeah. You'll get some virus warnings. The TS software without the crack will do the same, just like OVT's FM, FORScan (Ford/Mazda), and just about any other OBD tool that I used on a computer. I don't know why these trigger, but I think some of it has to do with the way they set up comms and some are for security features of the files.

In the end, I don't believe anyone has reported serious issues. There was a pretty detailed discussion in one of the OVT threads, and other than an odd message that gets shot out, nothing was shown to be harmful?

I've used all this software myself and have found no issues personally.

just dropped my truck off at the dealer for millimeter wave sensor recall which I guess is just a software update (I thought there was some water intrusion issues), service advisor said they could look at the ECU software update TSBs. I mentioned weird behavior (like a sticky clutch cable) in 1st and 2nd gear. We'll see what happens.

So I have read through countless pages and can't find an answer - can I apply this update to my 2019?

The dealer said there were no updates available, but it shudders like crazy when you shift into second and third at about 1/4 throttle. The dealer said it was "performing as expected" and there was nothing wrong with the truck or software.

You answer is in the TSBs. 2016 through 2018 only. There are two ECU IDs for 2019s, 04B40 and 04B41. So, something happened. No published TSBs about it that I saw.

From some comments, it honestly sounds like 2019s got a version of 04B12, not the TSB improvements. Just strange.

Brought my 2019 in a couple weeks ago for my 10k service and oil change and they took a look at the radar for the recall. When it was done with the 10k service they said they had to order parts to complete the recall. Parts are in and I'm now going in tomorrow to get the recall completed/finished. So it might depend what they find, but not necessarily just a software update. Let us know what they say they did when you get it back and if they were able to complete it today.

yeah they just called and said it is ready for pickup, based on the time elapsed between drop off and pickup my guess is they didn't seal the mm wave radar device...

I asked about the ECU update they said no TSB matched my complaint...hmm probably time to just plunk down $700+tax on the OVTune

You certainly could, but you could also reach out to folks in your area. Anybody with OVT or a Tactrix adapter can do it for you in about 10min.

There is a short volunteer list in the OVT Dev thread. Good luck to anyone venturing into that hell.:rofl:

The seal on the radar device is just a 1/2" thick piece of foam. Got it done with my 10k service and the truck was in and out with fluids done and the radar seal in an hour and a half

They stick the foam behind the radar device.

I guess slows gross water intrusion and dampens vibration.

Would this work for a 2019 3.5L V6 manual transmission (MT)?

    Sorrry, I'm new here...

Got my OBD port smart adapter and cable. Need to initiate our fall sale at SBP and then get to it.
