Less room there than I remember lol, looks like it's on the front of the cat but before the material. Not really any room above it given the front o2 sensor is in that spot

As long as water cannot collect on the sensor somehow you're fine. Basically don't put it too far angled downward. Obviously after the y pipe

i did something too with the back up on ramps and hosed inside from the back on the pressure setting, but i saw no place where it even pours out in the front!
something got plugged in the front hole (iirc, its been a couple weeks now) i think it was leaf on the outside, I saw a drip drip so inspected it and removed the debris covering the outside to find a flood of water pouring out of the front through this hole right by the front wheel.
was my truck not elevated enough on the ramp to push it up and over whatever was making this water pool up?

Exhaust is hot and condensates. It’s not free from rust anywhere

Run it with the truck nose down for a while then turn it around run it nose up. If there is a bunch in there it will take a while. The plumbers snake helped a lot.

so you are telling me there is no spot where it just all flushes out at the end, it just sits inside until it nears a bottom drain hole?

There are lots of places where it comes out, but none of them are a nice straight shot. Mostly out the bottom drain holes, that’s why it takes a while. If you work at it, you can get all of it out. Well there were a few rocks I never did get out. They were too big to fit through the holes. Don’t know how they ever got in there in the first place.

i am just trying to get it all cleaned up to put some internal frame coating inside before winter gets here to seal up that crap junk paint they have in there
... was hoping it was much easier to flush it all out!

how big of rocks? there are some nice sized holes on the sides in certain spots if you can get it close enough to fish it out with a mr fingers type tool perhaps

I guess the only downside to it being on the cat like that is if the cat ever needs to be replaced, then I'm going to have to get another bung and drill/weld it into place again.

But if that happens it probably means I'll need a new AFR sensor anyway so it wouldn't be the end of the world.

True that, maybe once I get in there and drill the hole I’ll use my borescope to assess how the cat looks. They're still oem afaik with 220k on em so they have to be pretty ugly looking. the bungs are only about 5 bucks ea though so thats the least of the problems

I was, like you, just trying to get it cleaned out so put a coating on the frame. I figured the rocks wouldn’t get in the way of that, so I don’t worry about them.

Welding my sliders on next weekend, just picked up a 10’ length of square tube for the brackets.

About how far out should the slider itself stick out from the frame? Figuring out how long my bracket should be.

Put them on jackstands next to the truck. I lined the outside edge of the slider up with the edge of the tire then measured from there.

My BS on the wheels are a bit tucked in as I’m sure you know. I’m just wondering how far it sticks out for most people.

I stuck my main tube just slightly out from the pinch weld. That said slider position from the body and the angle at which its welded is entirely up to how you'll use it.
