Nurses start here around $26/hr. More depending on experience and what kind of job. Also more for PRN or contract, but no benefits.

 

I’m home for the weekend. I may be staying all next weekend for some testing so I could be game for next week

East TN is the nicest area if you enjoy the outdoors. TN will be much cheaper to live , but jobs pay like crap overall. Memphis is a complete shithole and crime ridden as it gets. Chattanooga is in a beautiful area of east TN, but also has major crime issues even though it’s not that big of a city. Nashville is one of the fastest growing Metropolitan areas in the entire country with over 100 people moving into the area per day, but home prices are sky rocketing due to people from states like California moving here by the bus load and over paying for houses because it appears cheap to them in price compared to California. Knoxville probably has the best weather out of the bigger cities if you don’t like melting during the summer time. East TN actually has seasons which are nice. Winter time is mild with occasional snow in small amounts that doesn’t stick around for long. The farther south or west you go , the shorter and milder the winter gets and the longer our brutal summer weather lasts. Allergies as stated above .......... TN is one of the worst rated states to live in for anyone with any type of respiratory issues or bad allergies.......... Nashville native here that has lived all over the country and always ends up coming home for some reason.

 

If your wife needs a good medical job , stick to the Nashville Metro area. Tons of hospitals, tons of clinics , tons of you name it.

 

I’d consider it more of a suburb, but doesn’t really matter

 

You do realize that Nashville is all of Davidson county , correct ? With the exception of a small amount of cities inside of Davidson county that just refuse to let go such as Belle Meade. Nashville absorbed the whole county before probably anyone on here was born. There are only semi-independent municipalities inside of Davidson county and they are very few in number, area and population.

Semantics.

By your logic Joelton and Midtown are the same thing, yet Joelton isn't what people think of when they think "Nashville" even though it's under the Metropolitan umbrella.

Also, Hermitage, Donelson, Antioch, Madison, etc. are all Metro Davidson County but that doesn't make them Nashville. If that was the case, they wouldn't have different names on the Post Offices.

Again, it's all semantics, but the majority of people are going to agree with Zachk's interpretation.
