yep. painted it today and plan on putting it back on by Friday. I'll post the pics when it is back on. I used black 'hammered look' paint. I think it will look good. No prep due to the anodizing already on the skid. A sinch to remove.

that might be a perfect use for bedliner stuff. it's bulletproof and easy to touch up.

So funny man, as soon as I got mine painted today I thought of Wills' liner he put on his bumper and thought I should have put the liner on instead. Might do that down the road.:D

    getting there....
i think that when i get skid plates, i'll use the herculiner on them as i did my bumpers. it should hold up well...and touch up will be a breeze, plus, it offers pretty good rust protection.

Im gonna leave mine stock. I think the siver color offsets all the black under the truck and makes it stand out more.

NE body know how hard it is to paint with metallic? I just got a shell that is white and I think I have a silver metallic paint job. Can you just go to the dealer and get paint to match? Neumatic spray gun needed? Thanks

I know it serves no big purpose, but was on the truck when I bought it. The anodizing matched nothing, so I changed it to Hammered Black.

Mine was pretty beat. It had scrapes and some rust. I bought a wire brush for my cordless drill and a can of flat black rustoleum. Turned out great!
