Reminds me of a time when a cow-orker brought in some cinnamon sugar cookies. I took a bit and let her know she mistook her cumin shaker for her cinnamon shaker lol Was terrible!

Oh man, Cow workers. I know what you mean. Too many cinnamon rolls not enough trail hikes.

Admit it you're coming out with a cinnamon roll based rub now aren't you?

I think like most things if it's something you grew up eating it's awesome. Who knows some day I might try it. One day I was convinced to eat a cheeseburger that PB and Grape Jelly on it. Sounds disgusting but it was awesome. Manager of the place was like trust me, you don't like it I'll take care of you. Well needless to say I like it. :)

Love me some chicken and dumplings. @Misplaced Nebraskan probably has his with Cheese and Strawberry Danish. :boink:

My grandma used to make it all from scratch. I'm bummed I never got her recipe before she passed.

I'll post up a pot when it gets cool enough to warrant making one.

You could smoke the chicken and possibly the whole thing BUT I'm not sure how you would get the liquid hot enough to boil the dumplings in the smoker though.

Have you tried to get water to boil in it? If that happens then you should be able to do it. I use my smoker (before it went into storage) for a lot of meals and a lot of things you normally wouldn't. Made some awesome blueberry dump cake on it.

I've done enchiladas and lasagna and bubbles to beat the band. It would be interesting to see how long it takes 1 liter of water to reach 100°C. Essentially a pellet driven oven, which I think is beauteous.

My chili was simmering away just fine with the smoker at 250f. I had to turn it down from 300f because the liquid was boiling away too fast.

I will agree that for chili dogs beans just create too much bulk, you just want like a thick paste of ground meat.

I had planned to sneak in a camping trip over near Cle Elum this weekend but that's not happening with the cold front pushing South. Sounds like it's going to be just cold enough to snow a little at night up there but be 35* rain most of the weekend.

Just to keep it on topic, that reminds me I need to get on building a covered area in my backyard to run the smoker out of the rain.
