Is there an actual prototype, or just the 3d render? Plenty of things never reach past concept renderings

Edit: I'm also aways skeptical with anyone who announces a product with 3d renderings, as opposed to a working prototype

Anyone running OME Dakar HD leafs? Do you have 7 or 8 leafs? With or without air bags? How is the ride (stiffness and sag)?

HD with D29xl was good, add your full camping load and I was pretty close to my timbrens. Pulled the extra leaf and added bags with a cross-flow valve.

    Zero issues now.

This is good info. Why not keep the D29xl with the airbags?

RXT option 2 No air bags. Truck rides great with the habitat plus gear. I haven’t noticed any sag, the springs brought it back to factory height, maybe a bit more (I didn’t measure)

I have a 2017 Tacoma and am running the Icon RXT Springs - Option 3. No sag with habitat, the goose gear base plate and a 31M battery, I have about 500lbs permanent in the back. I did end up with some lift over factory but didn't measure, i'd guess at least an inch.

First thing I tried was airbags. Ride was way to firm for my liking.

I have the tx pro Baja front, so a 1” lift front. The d29xl lifted the rear with just the hab to almost 2.5”. Without I’m about 1.5 over stock. Overall I hated the rake. Also... let’s me drop the rear to get into the garage.

Basically i want to be less dependent on my airbags.. i am buying a set of EL096R. Wondering if i need the D29XL before installing.

I have an AT with tool drawer and a good bit of weight. My bags are about 50-60psi normally. I have a stock pack with toytec progressive aal but seem worn out.

Anyone have thoughts on the setup?

Not wanting to rely on airbags was the main reason I went with a heavy duty leaf pack. Didn't want to think about a slow leak in an airline or having an airbag blow/rip somehow (however rare that might be). I've heard complaints of harsh ride with HD leaf packs, but I really don't notice it with the Deaver's leaf pack. I hear it's supposed to be more progressive since it has a higher number of thinner leaves, but I have never been able to compare rides, so who knows. My wife thinks the truck rides nice, that's gotta be worth something, right?!

If you are like @corprin though, and hate rake, the Stage 3 deavers would probably be too much. Honestly, if I didn't tow so much, the Stage 2 mighta been a better option.

Anyone run Dakar HD EL096R with D29XL and Air Bags?

    UPDATE on my thought process...

I dont understand the double overload. It seems like the smaller bottom overload is acting more of a block. So I would rather remove the smaller bottom overload and add the D29XL leaf to give more arch. Trade-off that provide a softer right and theoretically, more support.

You shouldn't get a softer ride by removing the overload spring/springs unless you are constantly riding on the overloads. In normal use you should not be using the overload, meaning they would not stiffen up your ride. If you are riding on the overloads all the time, you need beefier springs. I'm assuming the pic below is correct, with the two overloads. Even these have space between, so you'd engage the longer one first, when maxing out the above leaf springs, then engaging the final bottom leaf when maxing out the above overload. Does this make sense?

exactly! thus, the bottom overload is basically acting as a block that provides lift. I would rather add the D29XL and get that lift from the arch than the bottom overload. The softer ride is a potential byproduct.

I guess that makes sense as long as you know you'll NEVER need the overload? I'd kinda think of it as an emergency backup for the one time you needed to pull a trailer or completely max out your rig for some reason.
