There’s apparently a breakdown in communication...I was meaning to say is it really necessary to have 35’s to go wheeling and off-roading? Not hey do you gotta do more to make em fit. I just wanted to know is it really that more beneficial to wheel with 35’s over 33’s

Im going 34's cause i dont want cut everything and its sister to make 35's fit. Also the weight is a huge factor lol. Once i get my 34's and locker put in my gonna go hit some tough trails like wind rock

 

Gotcha. Yes, there are large benefits. But it’s more or less do you have the cahoonas to use them to their full potential. You can do a lot with 33s. Look at @JBTacoma. That man will do anything with his truck.

 

He is closeish to a 34 and wider than our 33s

 

Ride 33s until you need or desperately want to go 35s. If you are on the fence, it is definitely not worth it.

If you don’t feel set back by 33s it’s not worth it to go to 35s

Would love to just tow this to the trails and be done with all the cutting on the truck. Sadly this thing costs more than most trucks.

these things out do a lot of crawlers, but they are more Ultra4 tier than a rock crawler.

 

I love those Ultra 4s! I'd take an ultra 4 over a rock bouncer if I ever had a choice!

 

How are they stock? Ive heard the new ones are a lot more capable than the previous gen stock.

 

Personal preference, but I feel that they take away from the experience. Half the fun of doing this is building the rig. I’d much rather have a Toyota pickup that I built over a SxS.

SxS are also putting idiots on the trails that shouldn’t be there. But to their credit, it has brought more people and money to the local parks

 

My brother has the first year model RS he bought probably one of the first ones in the state actually. It’s amazing, they’ve since added probably 25hp which is nuts considering it only weighs 1800lbs.

I agree with you for a lot of that for sure, there’s a huge group of SxS owners who respect the land though. There’s good and bad in every niche

 

All good. I’ll build shock hoops, but I don’t think I’m going to weld something I built suspension wise on someone else’s truck. Too much liability for a side gig. Now if my truck blows up because of something I built, that’s fine. I can live with that.
