Can anyone confirm that you can use the backup, and front camera, at anytime. Just push a button on the display or something?

you will need an additional adapter if you want to run the factory without splicing a bunch. One connection at least on the Dasaita that was missing.

So if I'm driving and I want to see the back up camera, say while I'm pulling a trailer, this unit will let me do that? But not my forward camera? I need an extra adapter? To do what, split the incoming video?

the unit has 3 video inputs front camera, rear camera and aux (dvd or game player or whatever you want). It also has inputs for DVR. Alot of video options. There are buttons on the HU to enable each camera so I would assume you can individually. You do need an adapter to connect the factory rear camera which I am waiting on and others have used.

I already had the anytime rear mod and a car solutions kit for the front but based on the HU I may not need it. I may keep it for some of the extra functions it provides.

There some other items you can buy if you wanted to get more than just F/R cameras such as side view. Tons of options.

Any after market kits to work around the clock radio issues on the later 2nd gen's? I did not see it but figure check again besides gluing it in place.

Do you know what adapter for the stock rear camera? Where to find it? I already have the anytime front and rear camera setup, but have yet to install because I want to upgrade to this HU. If it's not needed I'll just sell it.
I wonder if it's apart of this wire harness that Dasaita I'm said I needed for install. I'm actually going to install the 10.2 size unit, but all the internals are the same.

Thats for the JBL setups from what I understand. Got it. I wonder how much that is going to stick out from the front. the 9" fits it like a glove already.l

This is what another guy used but from Seicane https://www.seicane.com/toyota-backup-rearview-camera-adapter-sc71 The issue is they assume you will go aftermarket. I think they set this up for early 2nd gen and over the years they never updated those parts since previous setups did not have cameras. This adapter from Seicane plugs the camera plug and converts to 6v for the OEM camera and connects to the aftermarket rear RCA port. on the unit.

You don't need an adapter for the factory rear cam. It works pnp.

Must be missing some adapter with my setup then. I bought the newer PX6 this is the PX5 but it does not have a connection to bridge into the rear camera input. Thats why I commented you would need an adapter. I have seen sever say PnP but that was not my experience. Ordered via Ali Express but via Dasaita's store direct. I messaged them noting that. Maybe they missed a cable.

Nothing on mine on mine works or connects to connection for the camera. Well hopefully they missed it.

When I ordered mine, Dasaita said I need the canbus adapter if I will be using a factory camera. It's the same one you need for he JBL (which I don't have). They added it to my order for an extra $30.

ah got it. I was chatting with the guy and side mine was fine since I did not have JBL. I guess he left out the canbus need then. should be better labeled 2012 and up need the canbus and pre 2012 do not.

Any pictures of how your camera connection is setup with the canbus? I messaged them again but seeing if I can find it. I had ordered this https://www.seicane.com/toyota-backup-rearview-camera-adapter-sc71 but just for simplicity rather reduce any extra cutting/wiring and have it be complete plug and play.

I think the difference might be this thread is for the 3rd gen which use Canbus and we have 2nd gen's which don't use Canbus

Not sure how true that is? I have a 3rd gen Premium HU and the camera worked with no extra CanBus etc. just decided to not do the full retrofit. But good point none the less. A few of these threads I forget which one I’m on.
