This thread got me looking at the blocks again on Amazon. There very few options when I got mine 6-7 yrs ago. I'm liking the Heavy Metal Suspensions kit the best - all black and HD nuts compared to others, and the blocks are tapered. I didn't do AALs cause they stiffen the suspension and I have no ballast in my bed to compensate.

That’s what I was thinking of ordering, good reviews and for $60 I can’t go wrong. I know it’s not solid but with it being tapered and carbon steal I think I’ll be just fine with it. I’m easy on the accelerator and occasionally tow a 16foot bateau. Maybe in a few years I’ll switch out the block with a progressive AAL when I go with a camper shell. But that’ll have to be once I get this paid off. I’ll try to post pics up later this evening or tomorrow since I know everyone on TW likes pics

The rear block is considered a suspension lift correct? I figured it was because I’m lifting the leaves

I wish I had the GoPro vid it still. Driveshaft at the u joint was easily 4-5 in up and down total +-2ish in from resting. Not 30deg but still up there!

Maybe 2” in one direction. I read it as you meant 5” in one direction. Even 2” seems excessive but under stomp the pedal acceleration maybe.

I bought the Heavy Metal 1" tapered blocks and had no problem. Very heavy duty kit.

Quit wasting time on the block, you’re still gonna sit low in the rear the moment you add anything back there.

839CDBDA-8F8E-4C6B-B211-196D46739B6D.jpg You’ll be fine.I have a 2015 DCLB sitting on 265/70/17 that I put the 1”heavy metal ones in about 4 months ago an about 6k mi. with no issues. I have the 5100 all around fronts set on third clip 1.85 lift. No more bro lean, as far as the blocks go there tapered an come with new hardware which I thought was quality no slop in the threads and I’ve checked torque twice an were spot on.

I don’t off road just occasional dirt roads an job sites.

I mean if price wasn’t an issue a Deaver pack would be ideal. I’d rather spend $60 on a one inch block that won’t be as rough as a single AAL that’ll settle anyway

Nothing wrong with these, they have a built in taper.

2012 DCSB. I have 5100s in front at 1.75. I put 1 inch blocks in the rear. It sits pretty level with my shell on the back. No noticeable wrap.

I have progressive AALs to put in because I know it will provide be better for hauling and ride quality.

One inch blocks you can do standard u bolts and stock bilstein or standard length 5100s.

Sorry no that great of a pic. When I put the AALs on I’ll be looking to sell the blocks if your interested.

Btw, if you set the fronts that high save yourself some trouble and do the ECGS bearing in front diff. I definitely got vibes (took about 10k to show up) and that cured it.

Thanks for the advice and your truck is sweet! I’m going to order those heavy metal blocks I believe. I’ll be happy with a half inch rake. Probably get a lot of hate for even starting a thread about a rear lift block much less putting one on my truck!!
