Ok. Had to walk away. When I get back I’ll figure out how to turn windows defender off. Just never had a problem before.

 

Either your software is out of date or you're using a .p5F file when you should be using .pcm

 

I’ve updated all software and I’m attempting to use .pmc. When I’m in FM and attempt to install OVTUNE cable drivers nothing happens and it says ready at the bottom. Same when I hit PMCFlash utility.

 

Even though I am manual, I will ask here because this thread is more active.

I just updated my truck to 04B13 using TechStream instructions from another thread.

Now trying to flash OVI. Should I be able to just download files from Toyota Flash Manager? It gives me Error downloading file to default location.

Also interested in 2.0 beta for manual. Is that a 2.0.XEROM option? I have seen somewhere it is 93 octane only, is that correct?

Finally getting OVtune installed - whats the best tune right now for mpg or alternatively for power?
2.0 is still beta right? Should i jump right into it or go with an older file?

That page is where the only available 2.0 tunes are at the moment, not in flash manager. They are beta and 91+ octane.

 

Yes, still beta. Go to the link posted above and see if your ecu has a tune available. Those files are gearlock, and 91+ octane.
Some more beta files are supposed to release this weekend, but may as well flash one of the current ones if your ecu is supported and you have 91+ octane in the tank.

 

Those seem to be auto only. 04B13 manual is not listed there. Although OVI Tune (Matt?) posted direct links to downloads in manual transmission thread.

 

Those are the beta files for the manual. Manual thread is active. Ask in there if you have any questions.

 

Yep. Thank you. That is what I am planning to do. I assumed this is general OVTune thread, but it looks like mostly automatic. I will go live in manual now

That may be just a placeholder in FM.

I’ve downloaded it from the source but it will not let me flash it. The program won’t let me open pcmflash utility.

 

I don’t bother using that button on Flashmanager. I use the pcm flash desktop shortcut to open pcm flash
