OFFICIAL XB LED HEADLIGHTS THREAD 16+

I see a lot of XB’s being installed over the weekend.

 

Oddly enough the guy at the coffee shop this morning has a 16+ and saw them, said he'll come by TRS today to pick up a set. These things are awesome in person!

 

If only I could sell my bed cover that easily

 

Question for any Canadian folks who ordered (installed) these: Just noticed on the TRS website under "compatibility" that it says Canadian trucks "must have DRL off capability" which is strange -as Canadian law requires DRL to be on at all times (so in other words, no Canadian trucks will meet this requirement). Does this mean the lights won't work or is there a workaround to disable the DRL's so the new lights will work?

 

Changed the verbiage of the listing to be more clear. Also will help clarify by email!

Now reads: "CANADIAN TRUCKS: White LED DRL: 100% Compatible. Amber Turn Signal DRL: you must be able to disable OEM DRL (DRL is added back via fuse tap)"

 

hi TRSAndrew i have a question about the fog lights, could you possibly send me a private message. I tried to mesage you but it would let me.

 

Installation complete. Take your time especially with popping off the fender flares and you will be fine. I still need to do some adjustment of the low beams. Ended up adding a small piece of cut rubber grommet inside the front tabs of each light to help center it better around the white connector(refer to pic).

Install was pretty straight forward and easy. Only issue I had was the fender cover on the passenger side, broke a damn tab trying to pull it off... all in all though it was pretty simple. I recommend using a container or a few to keep the hardware separated. Few different sized 10mm screws throughout this install and easy to mix them up during reassembly. For the sequential turn signals, if that’s the route you want to go be sure to unplug the wires noted in the instructions. I used E tape to cover over the connectors for added protection. I’ll be aiming them tonight when it’s dark enough to see the cutoffs.

 

It’s nice to see that none of you have any problems with fitment that we we’re all worried about earlier.

 

Install complete. Only PIA was the fender flares.


That picture was taken in direct sunlight. The DRL’s are bright. I’m pleased.

 

I was a little concerned also before I did the install but got into it and saw there is a bit of room for fitment.

 

Install done here as well. Really happy with quality and performance (so far...).

Took about 3 hours -taking my time and no help (unfortunately). Would be easier to have a 2nd person around to hold lights while connecting wires and for bumper removal but totally do-able alone.

as mentioned before, the only thing that isn’t straightforward is the fender flare removal. i ended up going behind the black fender well guard which allowed me to release the clips that secure the flare to the bumper (see image). Very easy to break plastic tabs otherwise.
