Stock suspension? I was wondering how the ride would be with the E rated wildpeaks. Sounds fine from what you’ve said

It was stock suspension at the time I got the tires. It is no longer stock. I did have some rubbing but that was due to the offset of the Pro wheels. I only run E rated tires on my trucks, so it didn’t seem any more harsh than usual. So far I’ve had them on for 3 weeks and love them!

They look even better on a lifted truck

Thanks for the feedback. Was there a noticeable fuel mileage drop with the size and weight of the 33’s?

I was running E-rated 265/70r17 Ridge Grapplers before the Wildpeaks and they weighed 57lbs each. These Wildpeaks actually only weight 53lbs. I actually gained fuel economy back by running the 255s Flakens. I was around 17 and I’m not up to about 18-18.5 after the lift and tires.

I just ordered up 265/70R17 SLs from Amazon. Price went down $5 since yesterday:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C53CFMU

That put it in the sweet spot along with 12mo free financing on the Store card.

Thanks for reminding me to check there. TireRack and DiscountTire couldn't touch it.

That said, given my luck, hold off a day or two, and the price will drop more or there will be a sale.

Discount Tire has always price matched Amazon for me upon request. I've always gone that route instead of ordering straight from Amazon in order to qualify for free rotations.

Same here. Plus they also mount them for cheaper if you buy from them. At least that was my experience when I bought these tires a month ago.

DT price matched TireRack for me in the past, but just the tire price not mounting and balancing. I had been loyal to them for years, but I just didn't want to deal with the usual arguments over their road hazzard BS. I've also heard their training was slipping lately.

I've always done my own rotations.

I used TR last time and it was a breeze. Test driving Amazon this time.

meanwhile... I am hoping DT will open a local shop in the near future in STL, MO... *sigh*. DT shops were everywhere from where I came from.

Interesting. I tried to get Discount Tire to price match Amazon for these tires and they told me they couldn't go that low. They agreed to mount and balance them for me, though. Not sure what their rate is if you purchase from them but they quoted me $116 for all 4 mounted and balanced. I've got an appointment with them Monday.

I'm considering going with DT when I upgrade my wheels and tires. Could you please elaborate on their road hazzard pitch? What should I expect? I don't mind them pitching their services to me, but I'm a pretty low BS kind of guy. If it's over the top, I'll probably pass on them.

They always pitch road hazard 'certificates.' I have only ever had two blow outs. One was a motorcycle and one would have been pluggable if I was comfortable at the time like I am now. So, the RH was never something that I found value in.

They will negotiate them instead of just taking them off, which is annoying. It also makes it harder to compare prices.

They were (are) good guys. I would always pick them over Les Schwab and never considered other shops until recently.

I ordered a set of Wildpeaks from Amazon earlier this year. With a delivery to a local tire shop, all arrangements and service appointment done at amazon web page.

What’s the typical price to mount and balance tires? Looking at my options for Amazon, discount tires, Walmart and Costco.

$20/tire from Amazon. TireRack was about the same. DT didn't give me a printed quote. Walmart didn't have AT3Ws.

Discount is well worth the additional cost if you have any trouble down the road.

What PSI is everyone running on the 116 load version. I know the max PSI on these tires is pretty high. I'm currently running around 33psi but just wondering if going a little higher will get me back close to 19mpg. I want from hight 19s to around 17 but maybe I did start driving more stop and go traffic so that probably is the biggest culprit.

I’m thinking of these same exact tires to replace the stock Goodyear’s. Question. Does discount tire still offer to buy your stock tires if you buy from them? I know it wouldn’t be much (maybe 50 per tire) but was still curious if they still are doing that. I have less than 800 miles on mine. I probably would be better off selling them on CL......

Would be nice if they weren’t E-rated 10-ply. Those will ride harsh as hell. 10-ply is so unnecessary for these trucks. 6-ply is more than enough for 99% of situations and even at that I would say the SL would be more than enough for OP
