They do not, no need when working an office job. I imagine those that go to Iraq/Afghanistan get some though.

And the bivvy is 100% Goretex as well which makes it even more appealing.

 

I was just watching a video for tips and tricks with the MSS and one was to put your sleeping pad in between the bivvy and the sleeping bag. I just did a living room test run and my god. So comfortable and all in one convenient package. I feel like I should sleep on the ground just because I can now.

Agree. Looks good, but the scoop complicates things.

 

@3pooches the dirt designs crossbar lines up fine on my truck, so I think it’s your truck that’s bent.

I did a test fit and then took the bar back off for paint. Jesus christ the tolerances are so tight, and I think part of it is the paint you used on the mounts is kind thick. I had to tap it into place with a hammer and then couldn't get it out.

So I got pissed off and wailed on it with a 3 lb hammer back and forth to open up the mounts a hair, to where I could get it out. Cutting the fender wall was tricky too since it's so tight. I had to use a sawzall with a long blade and go really slow so I didn't knick any wiring.

 

I went ham on my cab mounts today with a 4lb drilling hammer

Buddy cut it up again today, and I decided to smash with hammer. Still needs more before I plate it again.

 

That’s why I bit the bullet and just put in the work to tub the thing. It really rubs me the wrong way when my tires don’t clear
