I like the Meguiars tire gel, its purple. It last a while even through mud and water. Comes with an applicator that kinda fits the tire (best for car tires/low profile tires not all terrains.) If you drive off right after application it will fling onto your paint and leave oily residue.

The above can is also very good I like to use that one when the tires are slightly dirty, just spray it on and let it work. However I found that it takes a while before I could drive without it spraying my truck.

What I like the most is also the most tireing. I use dawn dish soap and a scrub brush and just get after it. I find it has the cleanest look and last the longest.

Use the dawn dish soap cheap easy and no residue flung onto the Tacoma.

 

I usually just have a bunch of Rednecks spit on my tires, but that other stuff will work just as well.

 

This is what I have been using it works wonders I just spray it on lightly and let it soak in for about 30min before driving. It's just thick enough not to get over spray everywhere unless it's windy. And it's shines like hell for weeks.

Oh, I watched Full Metal Jacket yesterday (again...).....one of the best movies ever made. Me so horny.

 

I've always had great success applying it with a tire sponge. Yea it takes an extra minute per wheel but the finished product is WELL worth it. You use very little spray compared to not applying with a sponge, the gloss is perfectly even and it won't 'fling' off onto the body behind the wheel.
