So it finally happened, graduated with my BSME in Mechanical Engineering and purchased my dream truck. I'd had a Tacoma before and loved it, spent a little time with a Subaru Forester and it was time to get back into a Tacoma.

Looked for what seemed like forever and finally decided to just bite the bullet and go new. Picked up a 2019 TRD Off-Road in Cement.

This will just be following the build and adventures of the truck, along with my 2 dogs. I try to spend quite a bit of time exploring the Ozarks or paddle boarding the rivers in my area.

Very nice truck! That’s the color I’ll go with if I end up with a Tacoma one of these days. Can’t wait to see what you do with it. I’m in SW Arkansas and recommend you check out the Ouachitas sometime!

Thank you, got some black vinyl to wrap the awful chrome in for now. I'm loving the thing so far!

I actually grew up in SW Arkansas near Mena. I love the Quachitas, that will always be home to me!

That’s awesome! I’m in Nashville, so not too far away. Also, congrats on finishing school! I finished my second graduate degree this summer and it was such a relief.

Thank you, I really like the Hot Springs area!

Thank you and congratulations! It really is a relief, if it'll ever cool off some here I'm hoping to get the dogs out for some long weekends!

So last weekend I worked to get the easy pieces of chrome blacked out. I vinyl wrapped the grill surround and plastidipped the rear bumper caps. Nothing too involved, but I think it makes the truck look much better already. Headlights and turn signals will be next to get blacked out but that's a ways off still.

Also found out I need a better way to haul my 2 dogs around. Considering building a bed rack until I can find a used camper shell.

Added Tactilian US Flag magnets and Lamin-X fog light covers amber color. Love the look, might have to order one more set of the fog light covers, there is a pretty good bubble I'm not sure is going to go away. They said give it a week a lot of times they flatten out, we'll see.

Maybe one of these days I'll figure out how to add correct sized pictures

Got out and did some adventuring which has been long overdue. Just took the dogs out hiking in Fern, which is apparently known for some great rock climbing. Something I'd really like to get into this coming year.

This is Murphy the mountain goat... Little dog can climb like nobody's business.

Getting mods planned for the new year. Nothing too major, still trying to track down a bed rack and or camper shell. Planning to be out in the woods with it much more often either way.

Went adventuring yesterday, had my first river crossing and the truck handled flawlessly. Honestly the first time I've put it in 4wd.

    IMG-0587.jpg

The river crossing was sketchy just because I had never done something like that, but went very smooth!

Union School was a very cool piece of history in the Ozarks, check it out if you're ever in the area.

    IMG-0588.jpg

Also tracked down a camper shell this morning, will be picking it up next Saturday and I'm stoked!

Finally found a shell and it's great! The dogs are loving it! I actually like the 2 tone color and will likely leave it that way for now!
