Ok I thought this was the incorrect way, even read the post. So what’s the oval cutout at the bottom of the hanger for?

Whichever the case, I’ll put the gusset to the back so the zerk is forward.

Well, after many years I finally took the plunge in getting these! The labor day sale really helped further coerce me into getting them. Lucky me I caught it just in time too! Looking forward to picking them up Jerry. :)

Did the install yesterday. No problems and went smoother then anticipated. Recruited a good friend with a lot of experience rebuilding ford trucks to help with the job. We started at 1100 and finished around 4. His previous experience with rivots helped immensely. I don’t have a lot of miles on the truck yet but wow these things are pure beef. I upgraded because I bent my stock hangers.

Anyone have issues with the bottom bolt that goes through the leaf back out?

I was out in Moab and the bolt backed out and the threads were not salvageable and the holy being welded and boxed in won’t allow you to service it.

No problems of any sort here. I have already wheeled mine, with no problems at all. Sounds like something was not torqued.

You are most likely right. I’m just saying. Check your bolts.

I wonder why this is boxed and welded, doesn’t seem like an ideal design

That’s what I was trying to get at. It’s not serviceable if the threads on the nut are stripped.

If you have to, drill all the way through it and install a longer bolt/locking nut.

Mine were a bit misaligned and I had to open up the outer hole for proper clearance. Not saying you did, but you might have stripped it on install. Drill it through and shove a grade 8 nut and bolt through and you'll be good to go. Just like @Mully said.
