Anyone else out there shooting .338 Lapua Magnum? I'm going to start hand loading soon for it, didn't know if anyone had any caliber specific pointers for it? Obligatory pic from a recent outing, just a handful of what I shoot regularly. Savage 110 BA with Viper PST on the right, third from right is my Remington 700 SPS tactical. Also .338 next to .308 in case someone hasn't seen them side by side.

That they will...300 grain Nosler bullet at only a 100 yards on a tractor rim. My .308 wouldn't go through it or even dent it.

Sorry, it was .338 lapua. Bullet was a 300 grain Nosler bobtail, not sure on powder. Factory Lapua brass of course.

I was looking at the HMR but ended up getting the Bergara Premier Approach in 6.5 Creedmoore and it is a sub MOA rifle if I do my part. From everything I read when trying to decide between the two the HMR is a solid rifle. I went for the Approach because it has a longer barrel and the Trigger Tech trigger that is well worth the extra $$$

I don't have any experience, but for a little more, I can tell you, the Savage LRP is awesome. Either way, practice and load development is what's going to make your system excel.
See pic for 300 yard 3 shot group.

The target that is on the desk was the sight in target to get it on paper shot indoors at 25yrds,the center target has high and low shots before hitting center. I forgot to compensate the adjustment clicks for that range lol. Outdoor target is at 100 yrds the bottom right is 5 rounds. The small bolt face target is 10 rounds @ 25yrds while I was shooting for chrono data, those are 1/4" squares

See a lot of people buying and shooting Bergara rifles on r/longrange . Haven't really seen anything bad about them. I don't personally have one, my bolt guns are either tikka or savage so far.

How is your cheek high relief on that current set up? If it feels like you’re too low I have a simple solution for you that isn’t ugly. LOL

A better looking version of that was pretty much the goto for M14 during current deployments. I just bought my guys the pad instead of that nonsense. It works but... gross.

I've been shooting this AX for the past three years in PRS. 6x47 Lapua with 105 grain Berger Hybrids. She goes through 2-3 barrels per year - takes about two minutes to swap them out, and all you have to do is rezero. I'm running the Tremor2 reticle.
