So out of the blue one day I notice my (stock) bump stops missing. I had thought that the place I got my mid travel kit done had forgotten to put them back on and years had gone by without me noticing. Now upon closer inspection it looks like I may have obliterated them!?!? Looking back I’m kind of in shock that I hadn’t upgraded them since I went with Fox 2.5” coil overs w/ remote resi’s and a TC UCA. WTF have I done!?!? Doh!!!... So I got a pair of new Superbumps, I guess I’ve got to figure out how to mount them without stressing the new bump stops mounting part so it doesn’t rip off from the local stress. Should I braze on some metal and grind it flush??? Any ideas?

(Note: Hopefully going Marlin Crawler LT in ~ 2-5 yrs)

Cut them completely off and mount real bump stops

Cut them off and have no bump stops, just get giant front shocks and adjust dampening for natural bumpage stop

But don’t I need at least some sort of bump stop? I def am not going bypass shocks upfront which can be super progressive. Was thinking of Single coilover with hydro bumps at some point. But that won’t be for a few years.

Honestly doesnt look that bad. Id get a thicker big fender washer and put that between the bumpstop and the frame and call it good.

You need a real bump stop or you will eventually destroy the shock... hydros are cheap and easy to install.

Just a washer that has a big outer diameter.

He’s talking about using a washer as a shim

Duh! That’s the call! Great suggestion! At least till I can upgrade to hydros. Thanks!
