Why does it seem like almost every time you’re up here for a tw meet someone has a problem with their ucas?
Because he doesn’t have ucas? :notsure:

And to be fair I’d expect someone with the username “hoarder” to have everything to rebuild their truck on hand

I know one thing I have learned from this trip, I need to bring more of the most common tools to work on the, at the very least, basic parts of the truck and/or trucks (i.e. just in case someone has issues... like what my group had).

As far as parts??? That is so random? That's like saying, "why don't you have this part... or that part..."??? In other words, it could be a part that NO ONE would have EVER thought to bring, if that makes any sense? ANY part of the damn truck could break down, but yet that "part" SHOULD have been thought about to bring... right?

Either way, HUGE props to @bigbarlo for helping out!!!:fistbump: Just all out teamwork in the end and that is what counts!!!:fistbump:

And HUGE props to @dumontrider Jason for making sure everyone came back safe and nobody left behind!!!:fistbump:

@squarenut what handheld were you trying to use that day? What's the model number so I can look it up and next time you can utilize it better. It was hard for me to know what to do with it because it didn't have a display and I don't know what channels it had?

Also, if you can and/or want, look into getting an 8W with a display. The only thing though is that you may or may not be able to transmit "out of band" as they're cracking down on the Chinese "imports". With that said, you STILL might be able to "open the bands" by getting a programming cable and the CHiRP software?

Anyways, what is the model number of that black handheld you had that day? :notsure:

My point was that if you are going to play in the rocks you should be prepared for things to break. Carrying a few spare parts, hardware and some tools to replace them is cheap insurance. You break a tie rod or a LBJ your truck is now an obstacle. AAA doesn't respond to FS 2N61Y.

I've been out miles from another human and had things go sideways but I was able to repair my truck with what I carry. When you go with a group it's a bit easier as you likely can bum a ride worst case but never hurts to be prepared.
