I took the Tacoma over a very remote primitive road yesterday and got stuck twice. A battery failure would have been extremely expensive.

    Exactly .

I have been lucky the last 3 batteries I had to replace. All 3 died in the morning when I had no place to be.

I just replaced mine since new.
Could have gone another year but this year it will be outside all winter.

I peak all my batteries once a month...

I put my battery tenders on each vehicle to top off the charge.
Once it is fully charged it goes into float mode

We have about 30 battery tenders for the collection. We keep them on charge 24/7.

Would that be for a vehicle that is not driven often?

Like I said I do it once a month to make sure the battery is topped off.
And yes the collection may sit 9 months before it’s fired up. Batteries always full

    Evening all:
That quack eye doc told me I need glasses, my vision isn't what it used to be but its still pretty good.
Just took a pic of my outside kitty, she usually only comes around at night and when I go to pet her she runs away.

I was outside today before 8AM, swept off my rooves, cleaned the garage gutters, almost slid off the garage on the frost. Ice in the dog water when I fed Repo. Raked up around all my evergreen trees in my front yard and buildings, then used my wheel barrow to move the piles to scatter around my trees by the creek. Finished before 3PM for beer and chips. Good timing. Back hurts. Have to wait for the maple leaves to fall now.

    Good morning Susan, gang.
Rained all night, we like the rain.
Back feels ok somewhat this morning surprisingly after yesterday. Will see if I can go jogging here in a few minutes when there is a little more light.

Feels and looks like fall here today. The weatherman says it might hit 90 on Wednesday though. Fickle.

I use battery tenders on the cars I don't use often. I use CTEK 4300 tenders. I used one to recover the 12 year old battery in one of my cars. It took a long time, over a week total, but it cycled through all of its restoration stuff and by golly if that battery isn't still going strong a year later. In a very fussy car when it comes to battery no less.

Our GS350 is another matter. That car does not like being on the tender for some reason. Twice now it decided to get all persnickety about whether or not there was a keyfob in the vicinity. As in, it refuses to start because it thinks the keyfob is missing. The last time it happened I even had to use a REAL KEY to open the door!

.Put a friend to rest this weekend. He was only 62.
Then went fishing ...or rather, went beer drinking with some fishing on the side.
