Ignoring the bad color balance in the shot...:p
Medium size hawk, not as burly looking as the Buteos (Red-Tails, etc.)
    Bigger than Coopers Hawk.

Looks like Northern Goshawk to me.
    They're somewhat variable in coloration.
We have lots of them here in the woods.
Supposedly "Goshawk" is a contraction of "Grouse Hawk".
    If memory serves...

What time of year was this?

The positive ID is not there, but here is my thoughts. If it is in winter I can get to 95% confidence in ID, but otherwise I am between 2 species, possibly 3.

It is a Buteo genus (hawk) by shape alone. So Accipiters like Coopers, Sharped shinns, and goshawks are out. Other reasons I don't think goshawk is they are rarely that far south, are mammal specialists, and are big hawks, so comparing the size of the frog to hawk makes me think it is not that big.

My guess is it is a first year red-shouldered hawk that is molting into its adult plumage. I believe I see the white crescents in the outer wings, but that could just be an effect of the image. It might also be a first year Swainson's hawk. I dont think so, but can't rule it out. Perhaps a broad-winged hawk too. However, both these species are summer residents, so if this was winter we could rule them out and feel pretty confident with first year red-shoulder hawk.

    Interesting.
It would be uncharacteristic for a goshawk to take a frog.
Squirrels are more their thing around here. They kick up quite a fuss when they spot one. :p
