Oops. that was the worst one, obviously..but all the other ones are damaged from the trip, as well.

I found a set of 16 trail wheels for 275. Trying to get more pictures but from the one posted looks to have some scratches and possibly slight rash but it’s hard to tell). If the damage is minor scratches this seems like a good deal? If there is some rash what would you do- pass or?

factor in less than 4hr round trip. Trying to get a close up of all 4 so I have more info because I wouldn’t be to happy driving all that way to find out they lied. Seller claims no damage.

hard to tell in the photo but I’m guessing the 16 are the silver/grey wheels? Also planned on possibly powder coat

If there is indeed damage, ask for $200 then powder coat them.

If i could get a set for $200, that would be the first thing i did to them.

That’s kinda where my head was at with the offer and I was thinking/planning of powder coating, especially knowing it would be smarter to do it before tires and mount (cost wise).

I think I’d have to pass on curb rash, thinking it would need too much work to repair and even then might not be good

It depends on your local market. These are listed here locally here for $400 brand new constantly. Couple hundred more if you want brand new factory tires on them. I would personally rather pay $400 than $275 + $50 in gas and 4 hours.

I’ve seen some specials locally for powder coat that includes dismount and mount for $300. These wheels are cool, but all in that’s getting in to decent aftermarket wheel price territory.

Now if you go for $25 worth of plastidip or paint you have a bargain.

I’m not getting many results in my area. The 2 closest are these (technically 1hr45 away) and another 1hr15. The other one is listed at 500 but it also has near bald tires so I’d have to factor in removal cost (if I powered coat right away). I was thinking since they will be tireless then it would be the best time to powder. And the one listed for 275… I was going to try getting closer to 200 as long as it wasn’t curbed.

But I was toying with the idea of dipping my stock sport wheels (before seeing this thread/wheels) with this. If I didn’t do the powder coat on the trail wheels and dipped it would be cheaper. I wonder how the trail wheels would look this color against mgm.

Honestly these trail wheels look best in their OEM finish. You can’t really tell the details in the wheel once it’s painted a darker color.

Maybe in a little darker shade of bronze than this. But I like it. Shows off the form better than black.

Well I was going to pick up a set of these tomorrow but I just read the part that said they’re 31.5 lbs. That’s 6 lbs heavier than my current TRD OR wheels!

That’s going to make things difficult keeping a light wheel/tire package.

I've been looking everywhere for a pic with the SR5 wheels! I have a set from the wife's 4R and was thinking of using them on my 3rd gen. Thanks!

What size tires are you running? Any lift? Just picked up a set of these with 300 miles on them for $200. Just need to decide on tire size.

Has anyone run an FJ wheel like these on a 3rd gen? I'm looking for a decent inexpensive set of 17's to run 255/80 wildpeaks on.

I think the 4Runner SR5 snowflakes look a little more modern and are just as cheap and plentiful. You might even call the local dealership and see if they have any take offs around.

I had those on my FJ so I didn’t think that was going to look good on a 3rd gen Taco. I was wrong. Looks great.
