What kind of funcionality are you looking for? This mod basically makes the 3rd Gen boot similar to how 2nd Gen comes from the factory.

 

Well, the second 2nd Gen boot still has the holes for the knob to slide into and the whole thing moves. I have a round black delrin knob and the boot sits like an inch or two below it. It’d like something to just “finish” it by covering the holes and possibly holding it up a little closer to the knob.

 

As long as you are willing to be a guinea pig, have no problem making something for you.

I already have the 2nd Gen worked out for my own V2 collar design, so I can just hodgepodge the two designs together ... which should work exactly as the 3rd Gen one does (pretty sure the shaft is the same part on both gens).

I thought these would work for a 2nd gen. I'm in the same boat as dean_park. I would also happily offer my guinea pig services

 

@dean_park has dibs on it, only going to have the one until I am 100% on a design for 2nd gen.

Guess I will update the OP to reflect this, but the twist lock design shown in the pictures of the first post is exclusive to our 3rd Gens. Our shift knobs look like that from the factory.

Okay, it seems like demand has exceeded the planned batch of 10. I may have to presell them just so I can make the appropriate amount.

If this is no good for the BST rules (looking to the Moderators), please let me know ... just trying to do my best here without making a ton of pcs that I could potentially get stuck with.
