The standard ones are 3900 so I'm gonna guess it's gonna be over 3000 as well

Nice man! Have you had a chance to take out on a trip? And did you find any discounts for it?

    Anyone have experience with Roofnest?

I want a hard shell that can fit in my garage and they have the Falcon which is only 7 inches high closed.

Would really love be an Ali Cab or Camp King but too high.

Roofnest only has a one year warranty which makes me think might not last.

Ive got a roofnest, I like it, definitely more affordable. The shell on top is slightly warped, but I have no idea how common that is, and doesnt effect use.

Thanks how long have you had it. It’s the one year warranty that has me concerned. For $3k plus it should last years so not sure why warranty not longer unless they are expecting problems after a year. I know made in China and not an Alu Cab which I think has a three or five year warranty

Got it this spring, so maybe 6mo. Its been to a number of states and all over UT, a good number of nights in it, on and off the truck a million times. I cant speak to the warranty really. I bought it second hand so I wasnt planning on any warranty. there is a big facebook group linked to roofnest if you wanted other info. Im currently trying to sort out how to hang it in the garage, and if I want a rack high enough that it hangs over the cab.

Just installed the new Hybox. Unfortunately, it hangs over the rack a bit. So I can't install my awning how I had it before with the L brackets. I was thinking of just getting longer brackets so the awning sits further out and doesn't hit the tent. Or possibly bolting straight to the racks side plates? Any recommendations? The photo is how I have had it mounted with my previous tents that don't overhang on the sides as much.

    Question for the group
Are there any hard cover RTT’s that will sleep 4 besides the iKamper?

Most of the trips I do require a full day - or more - of freeway driving just to reach the trailhead, so you can imagine my delight when we decided to do a trip on the west coast. Sort-of. At least, our meeting location was only four hours away - in the tiny little community of Mazama, WA. From there, we'd head north - to British Columbia, Canada - where we planned to run The Whipsaw Trail and then make our way north and west to Molybdenite Peak - before turning south again for the United States.

Check out the rest of part 1 here and get ready for another fun adventure:

For future reference if anyone is interested, this is what I did about getting some waterproof capability back in my Tepui RTT. Ended up taking the tent shell entirely off and washing it with these. Tek wash first then the Cotton proof stuff. Seems to have worked well, no smell or residue after drying it overnight, and water beads off the outside pretty well now. Not entirely sure it was worth it though, if we're being honest. I should have a better idea how well it performs after this weekends trip. If anyone attempts this, you need a bigggggg ass tub to get the entire tent in and submerged :D

Certainly made for a busy weekend between doing this, putting a new carrier bearing in, and the usual oil change, tire rotation, etc.

Currently I have an FSR M49. Looking for something bigger for the family

Question for the group. I plan on purchasing kbvoodoo brackets and crossbars to accommodate my Encore tonneau cover.

As far as tents go I plan to purchase the Smittybilt Overlander XL. For me, wife, and 2 kids.

Im on stock suspension. Is there anything else I need to consider for this set up? Thanks for any advice.

If you don’t off-road you should be mostly ok, maybe slightly nose high on stock suspension. I’m not sure how much that tent weighs, but I guess maybe around 150 to 200 pounds so have someone you know around that weight sit on your tailgate to see about where the rear suspension will settle when loaded. Don’t forget to take into account any additional camping gear you will have in the bed as well.

If you’re off roading you’re going to lose quite a bit of travel running the sock leaf springs with no help in the back, although it would probably only be an issue on more aggressive style trails. Either way you’re going to be hitting your bump stops a lot more than you are used to.
