We are probably screwed in Canada for now until a bunch of us hire a lawyer and go after Toyota. Had mine rustproofed right off the lot but they have to reapply it every year due to the rust on the welds. Company guarantees the truck for ten years.

We are always a few months behind the Americans when it comes to these announcements. Canadian trucks definitely were part of the previous frame replacement/leaf spring replacement/drive shaft replacement campaigns. I got a letter a while back about the air injection system warranty enhancement program, 6 months after the American announcement.

Also FYI the new corrosion inhibitor isn't the black paint-like coating of the previous campaign. They are cleaning and drying the inside of the boxed sections with a special machine, then applying a Fluid Film like product inside the boxed sections. The C-channel frame sections are not coated with anything, this is still up to the owner to spray. Let's hope any holes they find in the C-channel areas are reason to get approved for a frame replacement, from what I've ready, they are focusing on the boxed sections near the cross braces at the front of the truck.

Thanks. That's good to hear about the inhibitor. Not sure I qualify anyway. My truck is Canadian, but I purchased it in Wa St. Still looks good underneath.

I been looking all over the computer about this re-call and nothing . Put my vin in and the still have the same 4 recalls for the 2014 .
The Toyota site says no re-call on my Tacoma. Shall I contact them directly or just wait for a letter .

It’s not a recall, it’s just an extended warranty essentially.

Went to the dealer and they said they found no perforations. Because I do not live in a cold weather state they did not offer me undercoating. All they did was file a claim with toyota. Don't know if that means I'm good to go on the 12 year warranty.

The CRC application program isn't live yet. They'll send letters to affected owners when it's live. See posts #7 and #16.

I called Toyota directly for nothing showed up on Toyota owners & I didn't get a letter on my 2013 owned since new registered in Vermont.
The service rep said yes my truck needs the inspection. He said it won't show up in the online took for it's not a recall. I got a case # so now to get an inspection.

For reference my truck was purchased in NV and is registered in NV. But the owner address on that NV registration is in MD. I got one of the letters for my 2015.

The letter does specifically say "registered in" the list of cold weather states which NV is not one. So I think they must of just sent the notices based on the owner address rather than the actual state of registration.

To be clear, my truck is registered and driven in NC and I never got a letter. However, I called up my local dealership with the VIN and he immediately got me set up with an appointment to get the frame checked out. He did notify me upon finding out that I had no perforations that they would not be taking any further action as I don't live in a cold weather state.

Just got my letter today! They must be doing the Ontario owners this week.
My 2014 has some frame rust, but it is not really that bad. Nothing comes even close to rotting all the way through the frame. It was undercoated when I bought it 2 years ago, and that stuff is just bitch when it comes to work underneath the truck. I tend to use my pressure washer a lot on the belly of the beast during winter to clean off the salt and road residue.

Ontario uses more salt on their roads than anywhere else I've lived (Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Denver CO, Kansas). I hate that shit! I've seen Ontario vehicles no more than 3 years old rotting away. Where's the beet juice!?

I think I'll hold out for a year and a half to see what my frame looks like then. Then sen in the form.

Nice, thanks. The wording is a little confusing. You have two years to get the frame replaced if necessary, then the replacement frame is warranted for 12 years from in service date?

Or does it mean you have 2 years to take it in for inspection to get the enhancement coverage which lasts for 12 years from ISD? Hmmm
