$80 per month is steep.....what else does the app do?

    It's $80/year, or $8/month for remote connect.

Here's a link to what it can do, but honestly I'm only interested in remotely starting the truck.

It is buggy as shit right now. It starts once and from then on the app thinks it is already running.

That's a shame. It sounds like a cool feature and would perhaps steer folks away from aftermarket products. Maybe they will have some APP updates to fine tune it a bit? I love that color AG. Just stop and stare.

I will say, I didn't like it so much on the Tundra Pro. I saw one today in person at my local dealer. It almost seemed like too much green.

I want to see a Tacoma Pro in person.

I'm reading you can start and lock/unlock the door as long as the truck as "internet connectivity".

What exactly does that mean? Does the truck need to be connected to wifi, or does it use a cell signal?

Remote start only keeps the car on for 10 minutes. Hopefully someone comes out with a mod to extend that. Would be nice for the hot summer days and leaving the pup in the car with the AC on.

I’m confused. You start the car with the dog inside already?

He’s probably talking about leaving a dog in the car if he goes to the store or something. Gets to the store, leaves the dog in the car and then activates remote start so the AC stays on while he’s in the store.

There is a Data Communication Module (DCM) in the vehicle. That's how you can get WiFi through your truck (through Verizon I believe) if you pay for that service as well. I know the 2018 and up Camry's have it and you can see the status similar to the cell status on your phone. Don't think that you need to pay for the data in order to use remote connect, you can use one without the other.

You don’t need remote start for that.

Yeah it was a compromise for all of the other things that I was able to negotiate off (predator tube steps, graphics package, tailgate emblem, and vehicle theft). Plus he went from MSRP down to $2500 under MSRP, so I'll give him the $500 in business for working with me.

I figured that much, its just silly the dealer prices on things. The local one does lifts, rev tek spacer lifts are like 1200 installed.

Still a good deal none the less. I dont see many discounts on Pros, especially current model year ones in the first month of production. I got my Tundra Pro at a discount last week, but its a 2019.

Yeah my salesman was really busting his ass to get this deal to work for me since I'm out of state. Very grateful for the deal that I got.

Good luck with getting that dealership to honor a written/agreed to deal.

Well my deposit is refundable if they do try to change the pricing terms. The only pricing details that are still up in the air is if there will be additional cost in routing the vehicle to the Autonation location here in Las Vegas instead of their Arizona dealership. If need be, I'll fly my ass out there and drive it back if it saves me some coin.

Oh man, that's one of the things I'm going to miss most about my Tundra. I looooove the red/orange instrument cluster layout. So much easier on my eyes at night.
