Previously, based on what I’ve found online, I’m lead to believe you can’t mount a roof rack on an access cab but I just saw one drive by with a Yakima Rack somehow attached. Anyone have any info on putting a rack on an access cab??

Rhino-rack makes, or at least they did, a set of tracks that will fit in the gutters. You have to remove the rubber (obviously) and install them with rivnuts. They have a video on youtube showing it and there is an install guide on their website.

I thought I had a link to them saved but I can't find it at the moment, you'll probably have to call them.

The rhino ditch tracks are made for double cabs but they can be cut down to fit our access cabs. My build thread has details. Rack Attack has a thread also and does(or did) installs.

I really do enjoy when people say you can't do something.

Failure occurs when you allow a setback to stop you.

I have a 2010 AC and I have Rhino rack roof rack that just attaches with a clamps to the top of the door gutters, no drilling. Apologies, no picture

I found my link with the part number: http://www.rhinorack.com/en-us/products/roof/roof-rack-parts/tracks/rts-tracks_rts03
These are listed as fitting Hi-Lux trucks but I had them tagged from an article I read a couple of years ago; of course I can't find the article now. Supposedly they fit access cabs and I don't recall the article talking about cutting them but they may have.

I have no personal experience with them, just something I found a while back when I was researching them for my own truck.

Double cabs have nuts welded under the ditch channels but neither the regular cabs or access cab ps do. I pulled the headliner on mine and just used washers, nyloc nuts and caulk in holes that I located and drilled. Once the headliner was out I decided it would be safer to loosen the air curtains for more room.

Are you using the 1511 fit kit or did you rig something up to work with the factory channel? Pics?

I didn’t want to drill, so I went the q-tower route. I pieced my set together for about $100.

Drilling holes doesn't intimidate me, I know how to seal them. Where to drill was another question, here it's is with the headliner dropped and the air curtain loosened.

Pretty simple just 1 bolt holding each clip in place with a locator tab on each clip.

That picture really reminds me how badly I need to drop my headliner and put some dampener material and insulation up there.

Front Runner supposedly has excellent customer service (never dealt with them myself)- give them a call tomorrow and ask. I'm curious myself since it looks like a complete kit. I think I'd rather use Rivnuts than rivets though.

No idea, but it looks taller than mine where the tracks are flush.

My kit is the Rhino ditch tracks in the link below plus Thule Podium towers w/3101 fit kit and square bars. I did upgrade the track nuts to custom aluminum ones since the oem twist in nuts are shite.
