    New here and just wanted to ask if you guys had any reputable shop recommendations? i think i read that some people like beach auto service in HB. just got my '98 tacoma couple months and just wanna get an annual check up and kinda start my own history of it. would like a mechanic to kinda just scope under it and make sure everythings good and what could possibly need changing soon. I also just took it out to big bear and got some mud all up in the engine bay and was seeing if theres a place that could clean it or if thats a simple enough job to do myself. yeww thanks in advance

    There is a Bear on Beach and Magnolia across from the Newland shopping center. Only been there once to get my girlfriends oil changed but it seemed like a solid shop. Old white dudes running it. Seem knowledgeable and may be worth a shot.

    @TXpro4X4 somehwere off 3n16, first time offroading ever it was so sick to get out there even though i know its kinda minor

    hmm so it seems like the only lead is kinda bunk. bought the rig with only 100k miles and it was pretty well maintained from the records i got would just like to see a mechanic to make sure im on top of maintenance and stuff

    Is it a V6 or I4? If it’s a V6 I would see if the timing belt has been done yet, but that would be the only major thing. You could also do the basics for some peace of mind, oil, spark plugs, wires, clean out MAF and throttle body. All easy things, except the timing belt

    Oil color, fluid levels and color.
    Spark Plug color and hoses.
    Pretty basic stuff as @Nicklovin has said above.
