Anyone here install an SOS skid on their 2nd gen? I picked one up from a forum member, and I can't figure out how the hell it mounts. I thought I figured it out, but the built in spacers aren't lining up right.

@crashngiggles and I did. And I believe the first versions we were sent were made wrong. Hopefully you didn't get one of those ones. They made it right so no issue with them, just would suck if one found its way too you.

Some skids require the removal of the OEM braces that run front to back.

Well, so basically, it seems as though in order for the middle 2, and rear 2 bolts to be flush, the front 2 will be way off of the radiator support.

Like others said remove the stock skid, then remove the brackets under it. You'll reuse 4 of those bolts from those brackets and 2 of the smaller bolts from the factory skid. Start at the front use 2 of the bigger bolts from those brackets and bolt the front to the lower rad support brace. Just a few threads to start them. Then move to the next 2 again these require 2 of the larger bolts just loosely put them in, last 2 are the 2 smaller ones from the factory skid. Once all the bolts are in tighten them up. If you have more trouble PM me some pictures of what is not lining up or what is going on

Lol, my bad. That was me trying to operate the phone under the truck. In the 2 pictures with it mounted, the front 4 bolts are touching. Could it just be that it needs to be bent that much??

Did the original owner have it mounted? Looks like one of the older ones not many people order the custom cut outs anymore. It could be can you mount the 4 bolts with the stand offs and take a pic of the front if it is sitting off the rad support.

The front 4 bolts are touching....?? That doesn’t make any sense. It should literally just bolt right up.

Correct. Almost looks like it's supposed to have spacers at the front.

The original owner bought it, not realizing it wouldn't fit a pre-runner. But maybe this was the issue. So no. Never mounted
