So, I installed some 1.5” strut spacers last weekend. I did it without messing with the lower control arm bolts to try and save the alignment. Now the truck tracks perfectly fine but there is visually too much positive camber. It isn’t bad but noticeable for sure. I plan on getting it sorted as my buddy works at Volkswagen and can dial it in for me. Only thing is he can’t do it until this weekend.

My question really is that I have to drive to Vegas and back (800 miles) and don’t want to wear my new tires badly. Does anyone have any informed input on this issue and do you think I should get it sorted before the trip or will it be ok until I get back. I will try and upload a pic of the front tires to give y’all a idea of how much positive camber I’m dealing with. I personally don’t think it’s very bad but would like some other opinions. Thank you all in advance

If it’s visually noticeable, an 800 mile trip will do some damage. I’d say get an alignment as close as you can but what really helped me getting aligned after 3in of lift was UCAs.... but every lifted Tacoma chases alignment issues. Correct me if I’m wrong

Yeah any truck lifted for that matter always has alignment issues. I’m new to lifted trucks but come from a lifetime of slammed cars. All my cars have negative camber and over the life of the tires sure they have uneven wear. I’m just not familiar with trucks and how quickly they can or will burn up tires dealing with this stuff. The positive camber isn’t much but it is noticeable. From my research an aftermarket UCA would be needed when lifting 2” or more. Kind of why I only did 1.5”. I’m pretty sure I can get it sorted out without them. Just not too sure how much this trip might wear my brand new tires because my lack of experience with trucks. I just don’t want to spend $100+ when I can do it for free when I get back.

If it's just camber and not toe, shouldn't be tooooo big of an issue. And you should always get an alignment after any suspension work

That’s kind of how I’m feeling and yes, I’m going to get an alignment for sure. Thanks for chiming in
