Amazon sent the wrong exhaust. They sent for a 2018 Streetbob.

I'm not one of the loud pipes save lives believers. In my experience on a bike and in a car a loud bike exhaust hasn't made a difference.

 

The way I see it is if they ain't paying attention loud exhuast isn't gonna make a difference.

 

They will hear you before they see you.. unless you have one of those Zero electric bikes..

 

Having 2 bikes, I see the difference.
2018 street Glide-stock exhaust.
Pull up beside someone doing 75 they don’t even look over. Which makes you wonder if the knew you were there until they made visual contact.
2005 nightrain - straight pipes. They sure as hell hear me before they see me.

I concur. A little braap goes a long way. Nothing is fool proof, but anything that gives you better chances of being seen will help. Well that, and riding conservatively. It's been said here many times that in a motorcycle accident it doesn't matter who's fault it was- if you go down, it's gonna hurt.

 

took my little cousin to the local track today. sadly I could not stay and ride so I am here now behind my desk at work, but will head back there in a couple hours to pick him up...

 

I hold true to this for most of the guys that have loud exhaust. LOL

Big radius no baffles going onto my sporty (when Amazon gets it right), short shots on my softail, and comp werkes on my 07 S3.

Remind me again how an exhaust changes how you ride?

I've officially posted my bike for sale. Theres a Dyna WG that popped up for a great deal that I'm looking to get. My plan was to wait till next year so if it doesnt sell now, I'll wait till the spring.

Hey all,

I just wanted to give an update. I'm registered for the safety courses and have my first class tonight after work, followed by three more classes over the next two weeks (two of them will be on the range with motorcycles). I spent the money and got a new Shoei GT Air helmet that fits me perfectly, and I also invested in a solid jacket and boots.

I'm pretty excited to get this thing off on the right foot. If I pass the course and I'm awarded my license (just have the permit now), I will spend the fall and/or winter looking for a good starter bike so I can hit the ground running next spring.
