10-4, it's no good to you, but I've got an excellent condition, 3rd gen. long bed MGM Leer 100XQ with headliner, led interior light, roof rails/tracks, and a Bajaracks flat rack that I've been considering selling so I can go another route for camping...

    I'm in Marietta

High quality may be a loose term. Many ‘off-brand’ shells are made in the same factories using the same molds as the ‘high quality’ brands. I suppose the struts could vary some, but for the most part the workers are just slapping on different brand stickers depending on what brand is running off the line at that time.

Nonsense. That never happens. My jeans are hand woven by honest amish seamstress/seamsters using only organically grown, pesticide free and locally sourced free-range cotton.

on a more serious note, there are some differences. I bought a used ATC camper top a few years back with intent to paint it to color match. It was Silver Streak Mica or whatever the basic silver color is called. I could pick that thing up by myself and slide it on/off the truck with ease. I then decided to see if I could sell it and make my money back to just hold out for a color matched. Ended up making a profit on it. Now I have the ARE and that sucker is HEAVY. It's a struggle, but doable, for 2 people to maneuver it.

So they may be made in the same factory, but to different specifications.

Note where I said 'many' and not 'all.' I can't speak to which brands are carbon copies of each other. But I can assure you that many off-brands are made using the exact same molds as bigger names.

Im not going to say I disagree, but in my experience (I have owned 3, all different brands) a high end model ARE or Leer is way better on a build quality basis. I vastly preferred my Leer to the no name one I had. Also, you can see how some designs are perfect with the body lines of the truck and some just don’t quite fit as well.

For example: I think this one looks perfect but others I see don’t seem to compliment the lines of the truck as good.

Agree to disagree (unofficially). I’ve have numerous myself. Leer, ARE, Century, blah blah. In my experience, the shell themselves seemed on par across the board. Perhaps some hardware/window strut variances.

The design of a shell matching the lines of the truck is more to do with the model itself rather than the brand. Plenty of Leer/ARE models out there that look totally out of place on a given truck.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
In need of Bed Bars! Who has a set for sale?
Not for me, but for the person that is buying my RTT this weekend.

Maybe SOS could get some out quick. It’s a basic enough part I wouldn’t be shocked if Eddy has some in stock.
