So why put a tire on the roof? It fits underneath.

crazy for 31's here. i upgraded to, depending on the season, Cooper ST Maxx or AT3 LT's in 265/65-17 (30.6") load range E. the E range makes these a seriously firm SERIOUSLY FIRM tire. and i love them. but not for the faint of heart regarding a rough ride. E range in this size is the hardest tire you'll find for the Tacomas, super responsive if you're into that kind of drive. and, unlike the 99% crowd here, i think they look right.

I have one underneath as well. I drove the truck to the Arctic Ocean at Tuktoyaktuk this summer and carrying two full size spares was recommended on the Dempster Hwy. It was only up there for the trip (and unnecessary, knowing what I know now).

265/75/16 and 265/70/17 (Same outer diameter) are generally considered 31”s

    275/70/17 are 32’s

Are you still on the stock pro suspension? I was strongly looking at the cooper st maxx 265/75/16 which are a true 32” in diameter. Not thrilled about the e load though. How are you liking the Wildpeaks?

275/75/16 would be a nice little tire size in-between 265's and 285's but to my knowledge that size doesn't exist.

Ya all stock pro, wildpeaks have been solid. Have duratracs on the t4r and for the money these peaks are great. Will prolly buy the same exact size and tire once these wear out. I don’t drive much haha. Had the truck for like 15 months and have 6400 miles on it. That’s with a trip from sc to pa back to sc. wife’s t4r has 25,000 on it and we had it for like 20 months haha

BFGs in that size run a little smaller. They are 31.6”.

I’ve heard the same from many. Your pics look great but sometimes the wildpeaks look like balloons in photos but every time I see them in person they look great. I would like to stay with a c load but really like the diameter of the cooper’s in the same tire specs

Anything from 31.5 to 32.4 is a 32 to me.
I guess the lower part of the range changes to a 31 after a few years of driving lol

I'm in the same camp for the same reasons. 265/70/17 KO, 2 inches of lift in the front. I didn't want to do a CMC for sure and I didn't want the down side of the larger tires like mileage loss and increased component wear. This size tire works well for what I use the truck for.

Link me some good all terrain-ish looking 255/80/17's that dont weigh more than 53 pounds. I think the only tire that fits the criteria are hankooks dynapro atm, but I never seen them in person.
