Hey, are you the keeper over on the FB page? You need to approve a post I threw on there last Thursday... and I'd suggest the page be opened up, so posts didn't have to be approved at all...

 

So I'm getting gas at the local QT during my lunch break. A guy comes up to me and hands me his card and tells me he does Ceramic Coatings on auto paint. What's the story with this stuff, anyone have any experience with it? I'm a DIY'er, so I'm wondering if it's something a regular guy can do with out "special" equipment. And of course he pointed out all the blemishes on my truck to make the point that he could fix them.

 

A DIY'er can do it, maybe not as well, though.

 

I just hit up the Encyclopedia (YouTube) and it looks easy enough, yet there appears to be a learning curve to it. I might try it on the wife's car first...

 

it is like a waxing for a high end show. It is not permanent and not all products are the same. It was designed I think to seal paint to reduce the need for the once a month or once every other month wash n wax.
Messed with it once, went back to good old wash, cleaner wax/ polish, more wax and then glaze.

 

The guy tried to sell me on the idea that it'd save me money because I could then go to the $5 carwash instead of the $15 car wash.... Bro, I have a 5 gallon bucket and a water hose, I don't pay to go wash my truck!

 

Prolly good idea, have heard of the shark fins being ripped off at those auto wash things.

I see it in every thread, and FB too, but it's not a "TTC" group or "TTC" individual event, and unless the boss says otherwise, that is what I put on or update.
