    Brice,

I wanna say thank you for taking the time to come up with this solution. I know that there are other sources to purchase similar products but I'd much rather support local members trying to bring up the community.

Everyone looking at possibly doing this fix please just go ahead and pm Brice. I bought it last week and got them at the end of the week. The install took me about 45 mins total including disassembly and reassembly. This took out all of the slop and I mean all of it. I assume that this is better than the factory shifter slop. It is insanely precise. Once again thank you for making a quality solution.

The shifter on my 95 4x4 4Runner wobbles around all over the place. Will these bushings work on it? The shifter looks the same as my 2001 Tacoma from the outside, but I haven’t taken it apart yet.

I cant be 100% sure. If you have the time and can post picture to this thread or PM, that would help out a lot.

It appears based off what I could see from pictures online that its the same mechanism, however that's just going off of aesthetics. To be sure pictures would be the best bet.

1995 is the 2nd Gen 4Runner, which is completely different from the 3rd Gen 4Runner which has the same shifter mechanism as the 1st Gen Tacoma. 1996 is the first year of the 3rd Gen 4Runner, which it will work with. I'm running these bushings in a 1996 4Runner 4x4 shift console.

I see, thanks for the clarification!

In that case I would need access to a 2nd gen 4runner shifter in order to make bushings. Unfortunately I do not know of one near me that I could use.

This is the only photo I have of the 4R...but I see what y’all were saying that it’s a different gen, and I know that but that’s why I was asking if it’s the same. Haha

If it needs an engine you better not pay a penny over $900 for it and then you should drop in a 3.4

5VZ swap a 2nd gen 4Runner and you have a solid vehicle. I'd never put a 3.0 back in one.

Edit: @MatthewMay1 was thinking what I was thinking.

:stayontopic: free bump for a product I may need in a few years. 213k miles and my shifter is still firm.

My 4R with 214k shakes around like it’s a broomstick in a 55gal barrel. It has had a rough life though.

Installed my bushing about a week ago and the difference is dramatic. It shifts into gear with purpose and with no slack. Thanks Brice!!!

Awesome! The difference is crazy when you go from no bushings at all to bushings! Glad it worked out well. :D
