Its finally time to replace my original alternator after 240,000 mi. I found a Denso 210-0434 that is rated at 80 Amps. Has anyone upgrade to a plug and play alternator that is rated at high amps? If so what model and amps are you running?

Thought I read somewhere it wouldn't affect your current system. You will probably need to upgrade your current charging cables though.

Yeah there's the GM alternator that bolts right up, and you can get an adapter plug for only a few bucks, so it's plug and play and can go back to oem as a spare if need be.
    GM CS144 alternator
And I'll post the adapter once I find it again

I provide 200A and 250A alternators that are built in the same case as the factory Toyota alternator. This means it is a plug and play type as far as the connection itself, however 200A and 250A alternators provide more output than the factory Tacoma alternator cable can handle, so I do recommend replacing the cable kit as well. (Yes, of course I custom build those too!)

My favorite part of these alternators is since they are built on the same housing as your factory alternator, they install with NO brackets or spacers needed, and your electrical connector plugs right in. Plus it LOOKS 100% factory, so it looks like it belongs in the engine bay.

I'm planning my own cable upgrade based on your Big 3 post, but I'm struggling to find a quality alternator and this is starting to look like a good option. Do you still offer the 130A Denso rebuild? @BamaToy1997.

The only units now being built are the 200A and the 250 A units. They are Denso remanufactured units. The only thing original is the case. All the internals are new.

I've had @BamaToy1997 Big Three and the 200A alternator for about three or so years and not one issue has come up. Quality stuff!

If I don't have many add ons, would a 200amp toast my battery?

Voltage regulator will protect your battery, Bill recommends doing a big 3 upgrade though I believe.

Hello Bill, Do you still have the big 3 wiring kit available for first gen? Looking to pick one up if you do.
