Get taxed like a mother fucker though here; it's especially worse for us non-married, non-dependent having guys.

So the wife's eternally cursed Honda Accord needs a new power steering pump, shop down the way quoted $990 for it. Said "the labor is easy but the pump itself is expensive", I looked up PS pumps for her car online and they range from $60 - $350 (OEM).

Which is weird because this shop has a great reputation for being honest and affordable. I'm gonna look into it myself and see how much of a job it really is and if it's something I want to tackle. $1k seems really steep to me.

Also it needs new motor mounts, but we're not gonna dive into that ridiculous quote just yet lol.

Parks and Rec is amazing, loved that show. 1st season is sort of 'meh' but it really finds it's groove around season 2 and only gets better/funnier

    Nice.

Yeah, once my girl transfers, that's when I'll rent the house out.

I mentioned getting an apartment in the city; that's kind of where it all stems from. Been helping her with school even though she gets financial aid and got two scholarships.

Speaking of which, my grandparents are getting ready to go into a senior living home in a couple years and have mentioned giving my wife and I their Chrysler minivan, since we have the baby on the way and all. It's like 8 years old but only has maybe 10k miles on it.

As much as I would appreciate the gift it's a Chrysler and it's a minivan, haha. Hopefully they wouldn't mind if I sold it to put toward something else.

I don't know if it's that one, I'll have to double check. I wouldn't want a minivan though if I can help it...ideally I'd trade it on a new Outback or some kind of SUV with AWD. Probably a used one actually so we don't have to make any car payments.
