One of these days I’ll have something other than a Mil-Spec trigger in my lowers...
I put a hyperfire 243G (réflex) in my cousins AR-10 and it’s an amazing trigger.

Larue triggers are the best bang for buck triggers out there

    Very smooth and crisp

I have them in all of my rifles now except for a couple

I dunno, depending on your use it may not be worth it. I dropped the Geisele in, shot it a while (no better than I did with the mil spec trigger) and put it away. 50 yards is as far as I have shot it though, so it might make a bigger difference than I realize. I've never been a precision shooter either, so YMMV.

I probably wouldn’t be spending Geisele type money but I’ll spend you I about $120.
The trigger in my Savage 10 FCP-SR spoiled me, very nice and crisp, it’s about 2.5-3 lbs from the wall to break, I shoot it much better than my 6.8 SPC with mil-spec trigger (very gritty and lots of creep) that’s my “DMR” AR.
Even with dry fire I truly dislike the mil-spec trigger, I actually prefer my stock M&P 40 trigger time my AR triggers and lots of people whine about those triggers.

I can dig it. My favorite trigger ever is a factory Glock. Not because it's super light, or crisp or has no over travel, but because I have so many rounds through it that it has become transparent to me. I have tried really hard to be good with my PPQ; it is far more comfortable and the trigger is amazing, but my Glock is out of the holster and putting shots center mass far, far faster because I have it figured out and it feels completely natural. I guess my point is mechanical superiority does not equal practical superiority.

I wanted to order like 5 mags but that'll have to wait a little while lol I got some basic but seemingly fair reviewed flip up sights for now. I'd like some kind of red dot on a riser of some sort eventually

Absolutely, the best trigger is worthless if you don’t train and the worst trigger is manageable if you train with it.
If I had the trigger that I have in my Polyner 80 “Glock” build in my M&P I’d be thrilled, but I shoot it well enough that I had the slide cut instead of putting a trigger in it, in my instance having an RMR is more advantageous at this point than upgrading the trigger.

I just bought 2 blemished lowers from Aero. An AR15 and and AR10 both FDE. The AR15 I'm going to let my son pick out everything from the trigger at barrel length to the optics, it will be his build. He's 15 and loves to shoot. So when he moves out and gets a place of his own he will have something to protect himself with. The AR10 will be a slow time consuming build. I have no idea where it will go or what it will be. I have a Juggernaut Tactical 7.62 so I may go with a different caliber, who knows.

I paid around $700 for my first one in 1992. Compared to the $250 I paid for a milled AK and $99 I paid for a Norinco SKS the same year it was painful.

Feel free to troll this post fellas.

I am finally understanding just how insanely versatile ARs are. My mind is blown. I feel like a dog who's owner took it to the treat aisle at pet smart and is telling it to pick a treat, and it just runs up and down the aisle so overwhelmed with excitement and joy that it cant decided what to get, even though it knows it will be back next month for another treat. 100%, thats me.

As some of you know, I trying to go the home defense route (because its spouse approved, only way its gonna happen). My question is, is it legal to register a lower as an SBR, but swap the upper for a full length barrel when I want to plink at the range with more accuracy? Once I register a lower as an sbr, I should be able to put whatever I want on top, right? I trying to do the adult lego set thing.

Not sure, I haven't been able to find any available in the last week or so.

Edit: I had been looking for a colt months before the news dropped and thought it was strange the lack of availability, now I know why.

My motivation is because I can. My deal with my wife is that the "utility" of this riffle is for home defense, so an sbr makes sense.

Registering an SBR seems archaic and a waste of $200 plus you have to notify the government any time you want to take it out of state

AR pistol with a quality adjustable brace will accomplish the same thing with far less hassle and time

Not strictly AR-related but it's a question that I'm guessing the AR crowd is likely to have some knowledge of.

I'm getting a SU16 and have a Bushnell TRS-25 low-mount red dot that I'm planning to put on it (originally bought it for a pistol, but went back to iron sights for that one). What I'm wondering is if there's a 3x flip-out or QD magnifier in existence that would work with the height of that sight.

I know there's a wide world of magnifiers for the higher-set red dot/reflex sights, and I could always get a new set (although it'd cost half as much as the rifle, which will be primarily a range gun unless the zombies show up), but I'd like to use the sight that I already have. Magnification on this gun isn't an urgent priority since I don't get to long/outdoor ranges much and won't really be shooting past 25m for a while.
