I've seen some 2020 TRD Offroads hitting the lots and it looks like some of them have the 2019 headlights and some have the new redesigned headlights. Is this the difference between the LED package and not?

The new LED headlamps are optional on 2020 Tacoma’s.

Does anyone have any performance specs on them yet? I drove the new RAV4 for a week as a rental, and those LED headlights were terrible. I felt they provided poor illumination of the road and had an almost non-existent beam cutoff. I'm curious to see if these perform better. I'd love to see an @crashnburn80 style review and evaluation of these.

I'll be watching out for them for sure to try and collect comparative data, it will be interesting to see how they compare to the Morimotos. It is a bit early to try and get the parts or a truck. That is unfortunate on the Rav4 being that it previously used the highest performance halogen low beam bulb in existence as stock (9012 HIR), even higher performing than my high wattage halogen upgrade.

dealer told me I couldn't get the LED headlights without getting the premium package so I wasn't able to get them unfortunately.

Wow, wouldn't have thought that you have to get an upgraded package to get the LED lights on an OR

I wasn't able to add the LED lights and technology package at the same time. I was told it wasn't compatible unless you got an upgraded model and would be a hard retrofit.

I would assume it would be part of the highest package you can get. Sort of like how you can’t get jbl unless you get the dual climate/blind spot monitor/heated seat package. That’s how it was in 2017 anyways.

If I were purchasing a 2020 model those optional 100% LED headlamp assemblies would be a must have.

I believe TRS is making an electrical harness conversion kit, should likely make the swap plug and play.

And the LED headlamps will only cost you around $1400, your labor to install and the cost of a wiring harness adapter (when one becomes available).

It’s one 6-pin electrical connector on the new LED’s.

I’ll sponsor a headlight and send it to you.
All that I ask is to have it back so I can tear it apart.

Sounds like a solid deal! Will be interesting to see what you have in store if modding a reflector LED. :)

I’m actually going to throw 3 Baja lasers in, then relocate the low beam to a single projector in the fog location. :D
