    I find them up north of Windham.

    1) Look on google maps for green blocks of state land.
    2) Zoom in for the roads crossing them
    3) Switch to satellite view and if it looks like a little trail through the woods, it probably is.

    Read signs and it is pretty hard to get into trouble. The DEC is anal about marking and more often blocking where cars are not legally allowed.

    I know there are but it’s a pain in the balls getting a spot that no one is gonna fuck with and also I hunt with my father and cousins upstate. It’s a lot of laughs and ball busting and occasionally we pull a nice bruiser from up there.

    About a year ago i decided to explore my own back yard (greene, ulster, and schoharie counties). Fire towers, forest roads, drive through state parks, etc. I've been lucky so far but haven't ventured through windham back roads yet, just the scenic routes.

    Hey, I'm always looking for new places to explore in that area, too! I've been going up to my families place in east durham my entire life, love finding new places.
    South mountain/Mt Pisgah state forest has a couple of trails that are my personal faves...short but if you go on a nice day you get awesome views
