I just have wild-assed guesses myself. My pet WAG is the continued deterioration of the earth's magnetic field. It's strength rises and falls, and when it falls low enough the polarity of the ---- err, poles flips. In other words the compass points to the South Pole. Really.

    https://www.space.com/43173-earth-magnetic-field-flips-when.html

Anywho my pet "theory" is based on the close relationship between magnetism and electricity, and electricity and cloud formation. I could go on but it gets boring pretty quick. Basically I'm wondering why nobody is looking into the impact of the weakened magnetic field of earth on climate and climate change.

Ken sorry to hear your back is still on the fritz. I had a go-round with back issues a few years ago. Not a fun thing.

Cheech happy to see you but sorry about your friend. Keep on keepin' on man.

:fingerscrossed: Your back will manage to recover on it's own with the PT. Backs are complicated natural engineering. Makes sense the recovery would take longer. Sorry you're having to suffer through it, but as they say shtuff happens.
Family are getting along. Kristi is being overworked lately IMHO, but no worse than what she endured with me during several periods of my active duty career. I work hard to keep that in mind and remain supportive. Youngest son got a promotion at work, he's happy with the increased challenge and responsibility. Oldest son and grandkids in PHX are working through the recovery of what they've all been through. Have them in counseling and making progress. I remain optimistic that the kids are still young enough that we can get them reasonably emotionally stable before they reach the challenging teenage years.

Otherwise, I'm still planning the boxes on the airplanes to pay the bills, spending some of my off-time at my friend's cabin/farm just outside of town; time out there off-grid does wonders for dealing with the day to day stressors. No complaints on my end. :)

That deserves a double :woot::woot:aw hell make it a triple :woot:Glad all is going well. A good wife will stand with her man as a good man will stand with his wife. I don't miss the working environment and when Deb retired full time, we both had to make some adjustments but life is good. Take all the down time you can to refresh. Work can tear you down sometimes. Have a good one Rob.

Cheech, sorry for the loss of your friend. It happens far too often these days.

Ken, glad the body is improving and keep up with the PT. PT helped me immensely when I herniated a disc in my lower back.

    Rob,

Bit the bullet and purchased two new cell phones on Monday. Picked up two Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus with 128Gb memory. Talked Verizon into no service charge and $50 off the purchase price. Not much but it was something. My wife moved up from a GS 4 and I had a GS 5. Applied for a veteran discount with Verizon and removed an old tablet on our account. Trying to save some cash when I can.

Today is pond filter clean day, UGH, dirty job and messy. Also going to hang a chicken in the Weber Smokey Mountain along with some Italian sausages for dinner. Trying to cook a little extra for the upcoming weekend.

I am off to my cousin's home in PA this weekend. Her oldest son is having an open house for a new home he has built. Still not finished but his family has moved in. He used the wood off of his property for the interior woodwork. I visited there 2 years ago and it was really looking great then. He and his wife were sanding the beams at that time. The location is in Clearfield PA so there are no local hotel rooms due to a Penn State game. My wife and son are going to a concert this Saturday. I am helping another cousin, she lives locally here in MD, drive up to PA. Should be a fun weekend.

Tape, I hear you. My mind says I am 40 but my body says hold on dude you are 70. ;)

    Good Morning Tom

That interior wood work sounds great; some pics would be nice, please if you get a chance? Have a great time none the less.

    Agreed, pics will be awesome.

On the age discussion, just had it yesterday with a buddy of mine.

My age is 64, my body feels 84, but my mind is convinced we are 34.

    And therein lies the problem.

He suggested I go in for an alignment to match up the numbers.
I made him walk the last 4 holes on the golf course.

    Jk

I will remember to take pics. My cousins son is a do it yourself kind of guy. He logged the trees and had them taken to the mill for processing and returned to him. He was the GC of the job and used work crews when needed.

Hi Mike, any good stories about customers from work...always good for a laugh. When I was working they were an everyday occurrence.
